Blanche was deep in thought, her eyes scanning their surroundings.
Seraphina had no idea what her mother was pondering, so she broke the silence. "Raelynn might have caused a massive scene at the Croix estate and exposed my history with Cameron, but it's a double-edged sword. The Croix family will absolutely despise her for it. If nothing unexpected happens, she'll be kicked out of their inner circle for good."
Privately, Seraphina was still furious about it.
Raelynn had nearly ruined her chance of marrying into the Croix family.
But Raelynn hadn't come out of it unscathed either. Trying to sever her ties with Sebastian by throwing a public tantrum was incredibly stupid. She had dragged herself right down with them.
"We still can't just swallow this insult," Blanche said coldly.
Seraphina glanced in the direction Raelynn and Sierra had disappeared, a dark, venomous gleam in her eyes. "If Raelynn wants to play dirty, she can't blame me for returning the favor."
"What are you thinking?"
Seraphina frowned. "The Vance family isn't exactly top-tier in Kingsford. We can't easily squeeze into the true elite circles. Our background is always going to be a step behind."
After the disaster at the Croix family's banquet, her social standing had taken a devastating hit.
After a moment of deep thought, Seraphina narrowed her eyes. "Julian Yves found out that the biological mother of Ian Hudson's little girl is Faye. Raelynn hasn't even completely cut ties with the Croix family yet, and she's already hooked up with Ian, gunning to be his daughter's stepmother. No mother wants another woman swooping in to raise her child—especially a woman with Faye's status. She won't tolerate it."
Faye was Ian's ex, after all.
Would Faye really just sit back and let Raelynn take her place as the mother figure?
"You mean..." Blanche realized where this was going.
A wicked smirk tugged at Seraphina's lips. "Faye will step in and deal with Raelynn sooner or later. Given the complicated history between Ian and the little girl, all we need is a catalyst to escalate the conflict. Faye will definitely find a way to crush Raelynn and destroy her dreams of joining a billionaire family."
She had initially been shocked to learn that Ian and Faye had once been a couple.
But now, she saw it as a massive advantage.
Raelynn had finally hit a brick wall.
As for how to escalate that conflict...
Seraphina's eyes darkened as a plan began to form.
She turned to Blanche. "By the way, why are we here today?"
Blanche's eyes flickered slightly. She grabbed Seraphina's arm and pulled her along as they browsed the store. "Our family might not be considered true Kingsford elite, but don't worry. This place might hold the turning point we need."
"What do you mean?"
"Don't ask questions. Let's just find the item."
