The sudden ringtone caused many in the hall to look over.
Dr. Evelyn Hayes gestured gracefully, silently telling him to go ahead.
Sebastian glanced down at the unfamiliar number.
"Who is it, Sebastian?" Seraphina asked in a good mood, one hand still pressing a cotton swab to her arm.
Only Blanche, standing beside her, gave a subtle, almost imperceptible smirk.
Then she quietly slipped away for a moment.
Her phone vibrated; she discreetly pulled it out to check the message.
A fleeting look of triumph crossed her face.
Sebastian gave a brief nod.
He answered the call while striding toward the exit. "Speaking."
"It's me."
Ian Hudson's voice came through the receiver.
Sebastian's footsteps paused for a fraction of a second before steadying. "Mr. Hudson. What is it?"
Ian skipped the pleasantries. His deep voice carried an oppressive weight, stripping away his usual polite facade. He cut straight to the chase. "Raelynn is missing."
Just a simple sentence.
Sebastian's dark eyes narrowed.
A razor-sharp glint surfaced in his predatory gaze. "Elaborate."
"Raelynn and I had plans to look at wedding rings today." He paused for a heartbeat before continuing, "But an hour ago, I lost contact with her. Her phone is off, and I received a ransom text."
"It said Raelynn has been kidnapped. The kidnapper knows she's soon to be my wife and is demanding millions of dollars within two hours. If time runs out, she's dead. They made it clear—if I call the cops, they kill her immediately."
Every conventional route had been blocked.
This required a meticulous approach.
