Sebastian's gaze slowly swept across her face.
Her absolute determination to flip the table and ruin everything was clear as day.
A moment passed.
Then, he slowly opened his mouth. "Alright."
His calm tone and decisive answer...
Left Raelynn staring at him in sheer disbelief.
She refused to believe Sebastian didn't understand what kind of situation they would all face if this was escalated to an attempted murder investigation.
And yet.
Sebastian was indulging Seraphina's desire to tear the world apart!
Perhaps sensing Raelynn's trembling gaze, he turned slightly, looking right at her, though his words were aimed at Seraphina. "If you have your suspicions, it should naturally be investigated."
Seraphina hadn't expected Sebastian to side with her so completely.
After being rejected by him over a minor issue earlier, she had been anxious and full of doubt. But now, she realized she had just been overthinking.
Sebastian still cared for her.
Because he cared for her, he had no problem nailing Raelynn to the defendant's stand.
Her eyes brimmed with tears. "If it weren't for you, Sebastian, I probably would have had to swallow this injustice..."
In truth, she wasn't one hundred percent certain about what happened.
But she truly believed Raelynn had the motive to do it.
Since Raelynn wanted to play dirty, blowing this up was just her protecting her own rights.
When the time came...
Once the Yves family found out Raelynn had tried to murder their precious daughter, Chairwoman Hayes would view Raelynn with absolute disgust and sever all ties. Whether the Yves family would retaliate against Raelynn remained to be seen, but at the very least, it would guarantee Raelynn could never associate with them or Chairwoman Hayes ever again.
Cutting off those connections was a massive win.
Raelynn's expression was icy. She found it all completely absurd.
Seraphina was a complete lunatic.
And Sebastian was a lust-blinded enabler.
What she found even more unbelievable was his attitude. "Do you truly believe I'm capable of doing something like this?"
Raelynn scoffed, unsure if she should mock herself or the situation.
