Seraphina didn't rush out of Keystone Manufacturing immediately.
Nor did she head upstairs to the shareholder meeting. Her heart was hammering against her ribs, but she forced herself to stay calm. Her first move was to order a rapid delivery of pregnancy tests. There was no way she was marching into Sebastian's office without absolute certainty.
Once the courier handed over the discreet package, she locked herself in a stall.
She took the test three separate times.
And all three times...
Two solid pink lines.
Staring at the undeniable proof in her hands, her grip tightened, a cold, desperate resolve settling over her features. Even if this baby wasn't Sebastian's, it was her trump card—the ultimate leverage.
It would be a complete waste not to weaponize it.
The initial dread she felt slowly melted away.
Clutching the tests in her designer bag, she finally walked out of the building.
During her delay, Keystone's administration had tried to reach her, warning that her tardiness meant she was officially forfeiting her voting rights.
Seraphina couldn't care less.
The moment she stepped outside, she dialed Sebastian's number.
It rang endlessly without an answer.
She didn't have time to wait around. She flagged a car and headed straight for the Croix Holdings tower.
Fortunately, the headquarters wasn't far, located right in the heart of the Central Business District. Given the time of day, Sebastian was practically guaranteed to be in his office.
On the way over, she texted Blanche the results.
She also brought up the one thing gnawing at her sanity: "My pregnancy is the perfect turning point. But if Cameron finds out, he won't let it go. I'm terrified he's going to ruin everything between Sebastian and me."
After all, a pregnancy left a paper trail. It wasn't something she could just brush under the rug.
And no one in the Croix family was easily fooled.
She instinctively glanced around.
Thank god the morning rush was over; the lobby was relatively empty.
Cameron scoffed at her sudden display of modesty, his expression turning cold and mocking. "Oh, I see. You're already acting like my future sister-in-law? You really don't know your place, do you?"
He didn't bother hiding his contempt.
Sure, Sebastian might care about Seraphina. He might even love her.
But the Croix family wasn't a one-man show.
Their grandfather would never tolerate a woman like Seraphina crossing their threshold.
She was lucky the old man was out of the country. If he were here, this little affair between her and his perfect older brother wouldn't last a month before she and the entire Vance family were erased from the Kingsford elite circles permanently.
His insult made Seraphina's eyes narrow in fury. "I suggest you keep some dignity. You went to prison. I was under no obligation to wait for you."
"True," Cameron sneered, leaning in closer. "So you aimed higher and decided to play the whore instead. When you were with me back then, you were already gunning for my brother, weren't you?"

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
