Ian firmly closed the door. The soundproofing in the house was excellent, ensuring total privacy. He crouched down in front of Lily, turned on the faucet, and pumped some soap into her tiny hands. "Daddy wants to discuss something with you. Tell me what you think."

Lily rubbed her hands together seriously, her big eyes sparkling as she nodded. "Okay, okay!"

Ian smiled warmly and handed her a hand towel. "Lily's birthday is coming up, and the party is going to be so much fun. You're going to be very happy that day. Do you want to make Mama happy too?"

"Yeah! Mama works so hard, I want her to relax and be happy," Lily answered without a second of hesitation.

Ian gently patted her head. "Then... will you do Daddy a huge favor? That day, Daddy wants to officially propose to your mom and give her the beautiful, sincere proposal she deserves."

He and Raelynn had already agreed on getting married.

But it had all been decided in a practical, hurried rush.

He firmly believed that when a woman got married, she shouldn't be deprived of a single ounce of romance or tradition.

Lily's eyes widened to the size of saucers, and she immediately slapped both hands over her mouth. "Will Mama say yes?"

Ian nodded confidently. "She will. Mama has already decided to marry Daddy. We're going to be a real family. So, this proposal is all about giving Mama her ring. Will you keep it a secret for me? When the time comes, you can be the one to bring Daddy the ring. How about that?"

Lily tilted her head, thinking it over for a moment.

Since Mama had already decided she wanted to marry him, this was definitely a good thing. As long as Mama liked it, she was completely on board.

She nodded emphatically. "I'll keep it a secret. Pinky promise."

Ian solemnly hooked his pinky finger with hers.

Then he lowered his voice playfully. "Then we officially have a deal."

Mama really was too exhausted trying to handle everything on her own. She didn't want her mom to go through life without anyone to rely on. She was still too little to really help her mom with the big things, so if there was someone strong who could protect her, she would be very happy.

Arthur was just waking up from his afternoon nap. Her timing couldn't have been better.

"Grandpa, do you want me to wheel you out to get some sun?" Raelynn asked as she walked into the room.

Arthur beamed at her, patting the spot next to him to make her sit. "Is my Sunny taking a break from work today?"

Raelynn nodded. "I suddenly missed you, so I came to visit."

"How old are you now, getting all clingy," Arthur teased, though the warmth in his eyes only deepened.

Seeing him in such high spirits, Raelynn thought for a moment. She pulled out her phone, opened her photo album, and brought up a picture. It was the photo she had specifically snapped of the peace amulet when Dr. Evelyn Hayes had revealed it.

She showed the screen to Arthur. "Grandpa, do you know the history behind this peace amulet? It's an item from our shop."

When Arthur saw the photo, his expression went completely blank for a split second. His eyes were clear, yet he seemed to grow momentarily confused as he dug through his memories.

He finally murmured, "Isn't this the jade pendant you wore from infancy until you were six? You silly child, this belongs to you."
