Sebastian didn't care what Ian thought. He pointed to the trail of frosting on the floor. "That must have come from Raelynn. She had frosting on her. If there's a smear on the floor, she must have been dragged."
The hotel wouldn't have such poor hygiene.
The only ones who came into contact with the cake were Raelynn, Lily, and a few kids.
The kids were playing at the front, nowhere near this area.
With that one sentence, Ian's gaze sharpened.
He immediately looked over.
"If a trail could be dragged out, it means the person was acting alone and didn't have much strength," Ian concluded.
Sebastian's gaze turned somber as he instantly guessed the situation. "It's Seraphina Vance. She snuck in."
How she got in didn't matter right now.
Ever since the Hudson family decided to host this birthday party and invite so many people, the time and location couldn't be kept secret. He had taken precautions, but clearly, something had gone wrong along the way.
"I stationed people on the perimeter beforehand. I'm certain no one left." Sebastian tilted his head back, his cold gaze fixed upward. "If she wants to hide, she has to go up."
Ian reacted quickly, calling the manager over. "Filter through the security footage to pinpoint their location. Also, implement emergency security measures and keep the guests calm. Not a word of this gets out."
However, before he could even finish his sentence, Sebastian's phone rang.
At the same time, Ian's phone buzzed.
Both men immediately pulled out their devices.

After retrieving her phone from the car, Sylvia Dalton headed back inside. She looked down to send a message, walked for a bit, and realized she had taken a wrong turn into a quiet hallway.
She was about to turn back.
But as she did, she suddenly saw a familiar silhouette ahead.
On the floor, Raelynn had been dumped in a corner, barely conscious.
And the little Hudson heiress was bound hand and foot, a piece of duct tape slapped over her mouth. Tears welled in her eyes as she desperately wriggled toward Raelynn.
The sight drained the color from Sylvia's face.
Julian didn't even look up. His phone had just chimed, and he reached for it, completely disregarding Sierra.
Sierra wasn't surprised.
Julian never treated her well.
She was used to it.
She just needed to let him know.
She turned around, scanning the venue once more. She didn't see Raelynn or the others, but without paying much attention, she hurried out.

Back inside.
Sebastian and Ian simultaneously received a text message.
It was from Seraphina.
[Seraphina]: I have Raelynn and Lily. I'm currently in the Sky Garden on the fifth floor of the hotel. If you want them to live, get me a helicopter out of the country. I don't want much, just my ten million dollars. Wire it to my account, make Raelynn drop the charges, and have her tell the police that what happened back then was just an accident. Tell them to release my mother.

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
