Raelynn didn't say anything else.
The light above the operating room flicked on.
However, less than a few minutes later, the doors swung open again.
Nurses hurried in and out.
Then, a doctor emerged, his expression grave as he addressed them. "The child's condition is much more complicated than we anticipated. She's lost too much blood and has absolutely no ability to clot on her own. Given her young age, her requirements for plasma are incredibly strict. The standard plasma in our hospital isn't sufficient for her needs. We lack the high-concentration clotting factors. If we use what we have, it will trigger severe side effects."
Raelynn stared blankly.
She knew Lily had incredibly strict blood requirements. Because of her congenital condition, Raelynn had never let Lily get a single scratch growing up.
The consequences were truly catastrophic.
But now, the bleeding wouldn't stop, the blood loss was massive, and the child could easily go into shock.
And the blood bank didn't have what they needed.
Her ears rang loudly.
Even as an immediate family member, she couldn't donate blood.
Because doing so would trigger massive, fatal hemolysis.
Even Ian paled. "Are there any other options? Can you request higher-grade plasma from somewhere else?"
The doctor looked conflicted. "We can only try to coordinate with other hospitals, but that process will be extremely time-consuming and labor-intensive. Right now, time is the one thing we absolutely don't have..."
Even if the wounds weren't inherently fatal.
The child's underlying condition was.
In that split second, a sudden clarity pierced Raelynn's mind.
Immediate family was out, but what about extended family?
Before, this thought would have sent her spiraling, but now, maybe...
Could Julian do it?
The idea violently surfaced in her brain.
But before she could act on it, a low, faint voice drifted from behind them. "I'll handle the plasma. It will be here in ten minutes."
Raelynn whipped her head around.
Ian turned as well.

I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
