Ian dipped his head. "Thank you."
The entire time, Sebastian sat right next to them, hearing every single word of the envious blessings.
He lowered his eyes, his expression remaining maddeningly nonchalant. He absentmindedly flicked a lighter open and shut, lost in his own calculations.
Raelynn, however, felt an inexplicable wave of discomfort.
Feeling as if she were sitting on pins and needles, she leaned over to whisper to Ian. "Do you want to switch..."
Before she could finish her sentence, The East District Land Auction officially commenced.
Ian looked at her, leaning in close to hear. "What was that?"
Raelynn eventually shook her head. "Never mind."
She had originally wanted to swap seats with him.
Being sandwiched between Sebastian and Ian was incredibly awkward. It wasn't that she was afraid of facing Sebastian; it was just that the entire dynamic was too bizarre.
But the event had started, and it wouldn't be appropriate to cause a scene in front of everyone.
Ian didn't press the issue.
He unscrewed a bottle of water and placed it within her reach.
For the rest of the session, Sebastian didn't spare them a single glance.
It was as if they were total strangers.
The auction proceeded smoothly. Halfway through, Raelynn let her guard down and reached for her water, accidentally brushing hands with the person next to her.
A spark of lingering warmth seared her fingertips.
She jerked her head around, just in time to see Sebastian pulling his hand back even faster.
Catching her gaze, he looked over coolly before shifting his attention to Ian. "It seems Mr. Hudson has made his decision."
Sebastian spoke with a slow, deliberate drawl. "I guess Raelynn doesn't mean that much to you after all."
The remark felt like a veiled jab aimed directly at her.
Raelynn's brow tightened. "I never cared about this. If a massive corporation ran on sheer emotion, it would go bankrupt. They might as well just pack it up."

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
