Marcus Davenport was absolutely furious.
His face thunderous, he ordered security to keep everyone away from the area.
Forrest Croix was equally grim. He had meticulously selected this match for Sebastian Croix, and everything had been going so smoothly. The alliance between their two families promised immeasurable benefits and a grand new direction for their empires.
But now, right at the finish line, it had all been blown to pieces!
"Mr. Yves, your family certainly raised a real piece of work," Forrest sneered, shooting a glacial glare at Julian, who had been silent until now.
The blame shifted.
Julian's expression was freezing. "Chairman Croix Sr., you're mistaken. She doesn't share a drop of our blood. She was adopted. An actual Yves would never pull a stunt like this."
At a moment like this, no one was really listening to excuses.
Raelynn Ortiz happened to be coming out of the nearby restroom, having just washed her hands.
She turned the corner and saw the crowd gathered at the door.
To leave, she had to walk right past them.
Which meant...
As she quietly approached,
she saw exactly what was going on inside.
Sierra Yves was clutching her clothes, sobbing quietly, while Sebastian stood beside her, radiating a chilling indifference as if none of it concerned him.
Raelynn froze, utterly stunned.
Taking in Zella Davenport's furious expression, she instantly pieced it together.
She looked up.
And Sebastian somehow spotted her right through the crowd.
He stared in her direction, his face impassive as he spoke. "Explaining is a waste of breath. I have zero interest in her, and I certainly wouldn't do something like this at a time like this."
Raelynn pressed her lips into a thin line.
Her cheek turned instantly red. Biting her lip, she cast a helpless glance at Sebastian before stepping up to take the blame. "This is all my fault. It has absolutely nothing to do with Mr. Croix. You have every right to take your anger out on me, Ms. Davenport. I just hope this doesn't ruin your engagement to him."
Zella scoffed. "You really know how to play the guilt-trip game for a man's benefit, don't you? Whether he buys it or not isn't my problem. You're beneath my notice, but I figured someone needed to teach you a lesson in basic decency. You earned that slap."
She didn't even bother tearing the blazer away from Sierra.
She only knew that insults had to be dealt with on the spot.
Handling it later wasn't good enough.
Sierra's eyes were red, but she stubbornly refused to say a single bad word about Sebastian.
"We're going home!" Marcus ordered.
There would clearly be no grand engagement announcement tonight.
Zella turned to leave, but not before shooting Sebastian a long, piercing look. She was furious, resentful, and her pride was bruised. She could tell he had absolutely no intention of offering her a genuine explanation.
He made no move and said no word to salvage the situation.

The readers' comments on the novel: Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding
I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
