It only created a rival.
The only way to restore the balance of power was if Sebastian died.
This dark secret...
Forrest was the only one in the family who knew the truth.
And now...
"When did you find out?" Forrest asked, his complexion ashen.
Sebastian dropped onto the sofa, his gaze distant. "Probably on the second day of the kidnapping."
He had known from the very beginning. It was no accident.
It was a meticulously planned hit.
His own flesh and blood wanted him dead.
That was why, when he barely escaped with his life and Raelynn found him, he had zero will to live.
The betrayal had shattered him completely.
But Raelynn had been relentless.
He had never met a girl who talked so much.
She would sit by his bed for hours, babbling about the most trivial nonsense. Her joy, her sadness, her frustrations—she treated him like her personal sounding board, pouring every fleeting thought into his ears.
He ignored her.
He turned his back to her.
So she just picked up her little stool and moved to the other side of the bed.
It didn't deter her in the slightest.
She was determined to make him look at her while she talked his ear off.
He got so sick of the noise that he'd finally drag himself up just to drink his medicine and shut her up.
She was incredibly stingy too. When he refused his medicine, she'd count out her precious candy, looking absolutely devastated at the thought of parting with them. She hated giving them up, and watching her agonizing internal battle over a piece of candy was one of the few things that amused him.
He used to purposely drag it out just to extort the sweets from her.
Forrest's heavy sigh.
Dragged Sebastian back from his memories.
Forrest said softly, "So you knew from the very start."
He had buried the truth so deeply that even Cyrus Croix didn't know his father was aware of the assassination attempt.
He thought he had covered it up flawlessly.
But by sweeping it under the rug to protect the family name, he had inflicted an even deeper wound on Sebastian.
"What do you intend to do?" Forrest asked.

No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
