"For example," Zella continued.
"That bottle of juice."
Although Sebastian had moved quickly.
Zella had been observing. Raelynn really hadn't touched that bottle of mango juice—she either disliked it or was allergic to it.
And Sebastian swapping it out for her was pure reflex.
It was such a natural gesture that he probably hadn't even noticed doing it himself.
"And another thing."
"When Sebastian rejected me, he was blunt and straightforward."
"But when he talks to you, he's always beating around the bush, leaving hidden meanings, making things cloudy. It's like he wants you to guess, to dig it out of him yourself."
His state of mind was completely different.
It proved that Sebastian was investing his thoughts into Raelynn.
"You're overthinking it," Raelynn said, not understanding why Zella was so melancholic or where she got these bizarre ideas. "After all, we were married for years. Even if we weren't a real couple, we spent seven actual years together. Our dynamic is just out of habit."
Zella stared at her.
She let out a sudden, cynical laugh. "Raelynn, you think men are too simple."
She went on, "In all my life, Sebastian is the only man I've liked who ignored me. He doesn't like me, so he won't give me an ounce of hope. If he doesn't want anything from me, he won't waste a single thought on me. Like what happened the other day. It was obvious nothing actually went down, but he didn't offer me a single word of explanation. Yet, when I thought about it carefully..."
"He did explain, actually," Raelynn interjected.
Zella gave Raelynn another complicated look. "But he wasn't explaining it to me."
It was only when Raelynn had walked over that day that the previously silent Sebastian had finally deigned to open his mouth, saying, 'I have no interest in her. There's no need to do something like that at a time like this.'
At the time, Zella had thought he was at least somewhat considering their families' business ties and offering an explanation.
But today, she suddenly realized the truth.

I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
