Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 808

Ian took a large step forward and grabbed Raelynn's wrist. "Raelynn, let's talk."

He had no desire to trade verbal blows with Sebastian; he just wanted to pull her away.

But the moment she moved, Sebastian's hand clamped down on her other wrist. Caught in the middle, she was yanked in two different directions.

Raelynn's expression darkened. She was already stressed enough, and her plate was overflowing with crises. With wolves circling in front of her and tigers at her back, she knew the Croix family would be coming for her head any minute. She didn't have the emotional bandwidth for a macho tug-of-war.

Sebastian didn't let go.

He threw a quick glance at Ian before staring down at her. "Don't you think you owe me an explanation regarding the child?"

"Have some self-respect, Mr. Croix," Ian demanded, his expression growing deadlier as he stared at Sebastian's grip on Raelynn.

Sierra stayed quiet, standing off to the side. Watching the scene unfold, she unconsciously clenched her fists tight, a suffocating jealousy brewing within.

Raelynn took a deep breath. The Hudson family's drama was just as frustrating. She had already texted Ian about Cordelia's phone call. Right now, Lily was her sole priority.

She looked at Ian. "I have things I need to handle. Whether the wedding is postponed or canceled, I don't think that's a decision just the two of us can make right now."

Ian's eyes darkened.

He guessed his mother had probably spoken to her. Whatever Cordelia had said, to Raelynn, it must have felt like abandonment—yet another betrayal following the bidding war fiasco.

Sierra paused, then bit her lip. "But my sister isn't one to swallow her pride, and the Yves family wouldn't allow it anyway. After the scandal broke, the Hudsons didn't release a statement. I'm guessing they wanted to ice her out, wait for the heat to die down. To Raelynn, that's abandonment. It damages your family's pride too. If you force the wedding now, it'll just cause endless infighting within your family. You won't be able to hold the ceremony easily."

"What is your point?" Ian remained utterly stoic.

"I just think that after all this, and with Mr. Croix publicly claiming the child, there's bound to be friction between the Croixs and the Hudsons. I know my sister is unhappy with your family and won't want to go through with the wedding. If the Hudsons push forward, it's basically declaring war on the Croixs. I just wanted to advise you... maybe take a step back. The public knows you're having a wedding, but they don't know who the bride is. If you want to give both families a graceful exit from this mess, why not..."

"...change the bride? It proves you and my sister were never serious, and it protects the Hudson family's reputation."

Right now, the Hudsons desperately needed to wash their hands of the "homewrecker" scandal interfering with the Croix marriage. It was a PR nightmare. Only by swapping the bride could the rumors be naturally dismantled, giving both families a graceful way out while keeping up appearances.
