Everything culminated into one definitive answer in this exact moment.
Since Sebastian had chosen to attend the wedding, there was no way he was going to let the Hudsons walk away with a happy ending. But no one had anticipated he would attack from this angle, entirely humiliating both prominent families at once.
Sebastian tilted his head slightly. "When it comes to underhanded tactics, I pale in comparison to the Hudsons. At least I am Lily's biological father; making arrangements for my own child is just human nature. But the Hudson family's actions today? I think you've genuinely shocked everyone in this room."
His tone was infuriatingly calm.
But the heavy sarcasm was impossible to miss.
He was openly calling out the Hudsons' severe lack of morals and boundaries.
Ian's handsome face had turned completely stony. "Mr. Croix, you've plotted this well. By placing Lily with the Yves family, you've severed any leverage the Croixs or the Hudsons could have over her."
Now.
The Yves family were legally her direct relatives, which was fundamentally different from the Hudsons' position.
The Hudsons had no blood ties to her; they could have tried pulling strings, but the Yves family possessed true, undeniable blood relations. Even if the Croix family attempted anything shady later, it would be utterly useless.
Sebastian had struck first.
He had manipulated the timeline to perfectly lock down the outcome.
"Raelynn doesn't want her returning to the Croix family, and I refuse to let my child be held hostage by the Hudsons. A compromise works perfectly, doesn't it? Mr. Hudson, your mistake was being far too greedy. Did you honestly believe you had enough of an emotional foundation with Raelynn that she would willingly marry you after your family sold out her daughter?"
Sebastian's tone remained frigid.
But it made Ian's gaze turn exceedingly somber.
He instinctively looked over at Raelynn.
Raelynn was finally recovering from her initial shock.
She never could have predicted that Sebastian had secretly teamed up with Julian to secure Lily's place within the Yves family. It wasn't that she hadn't considered it before, but without her divorce certificate—and with Matilda Croix intentionally blocking her from getting a replacement—she had no legal standing to claim custody. That was why she had felt backed into a corner, forced to marry Ian in the first place.
But Sebastian had everything he needed right in his hands.
Being the biological father with undeniable proof, combined with Julian's immense resources, opened doors she could never have accessed.
She truly hadn't seen this coming.
The Hudsons' reputation was already in tatters because of this fiasco.
They had lost the child, their dignity, and had become a public laughingstock. Now, this scandal was going to tank their corporate stock. She had no choice but to revert to her ruthless business instincts.
Sebastian replied coolly, "That was the Croix family's promise, not mine. I suggest you give them a call, Mrs. Hudson."
"You!"
"What a so-called prestigious family, trying to reap all the rewards without putting anything on the line!" Dr. Evelyn Hayes interjected sharply, having finally processed the gravity of the situation.
She had a great-granddaughter.
The Yves family had a new, precious jewel to cherish.
The realization was enough to bring tears of joy to her eyes.
Yet, her precious granddaughter, Raelynn, had been so deeply mistreated and bullied by these Hudsons!
With an icy glare, her fierce gaze swept over everyone. "The Hudsons want the world served on a silver platter. Life doesn't work that way. Since we're airing it all out, I don't mind announcing the Yves family's second piece of wonderful news."

The readers' comments on the novel: Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding
I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
