Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 860

"I'll sew a little bow for you," Raelynn deadpanned.

"Thanks," Sebastian replied smoothly.

"..."

The doctor standing nearby glanced awkwardly between the two of them.

He exchanged a knowing look with the nurse.

Their banter was sharp, dripping with an undeniable explosive tension, yet there was an invisible barrier around them that made it impossible for anyone else to intrude.

Raelynn's technique was exceptional, allowing her to finish the procedure efficiently.

But there was one glaring issue.

His blood wasn't clotting properly.

Even for relatively minor cuts, the bleeding was alarmingly difficult to staunch, making the suturing process far more complicated. If the lacerations had been any deeper, he could have easily bled to death.

"Sorry for taking over,"

Raelynn said, turning back to the doctor.

He chuckled warmly. "Not at all. We completely understand a wife worrying about her husband."

"We're not married," she instantly corrected.

The doctor was rendered speechless.

Sebastian didn't bother to clarify either.

They stepped out of the clinic and headed back toward the OR.

Raelynn walked slightly ahead, with him following at a relaxed pace.

She paused and looked back at him. "Thank you for saving my mom today. I'll send you some herbal remedies tomorrow—both topical and oral. It should help the wounds heal faster."

She stood silhouetted against the harsh hospital lights, her demeanor entirely serious and professional once again.

Her gratitude was genuine. She wasn't taking his actions for granted, but she was also drawing a clear line in the sand. She didn't want to owe him anything.

It was the exact cadence of a perfectly polite, ordinary friend.

Actively carving an insurmountable gorge between them.

Sebastian offered a steady, unbothered nod. "Alright."

Dr. Hayes never would have given her a second glance.

She would have simply paid her medical bills and found her a decent foster family.

It was just a twist of fate that Quentin, drowning in guilt over Sylvia's infertility, didn't object to letting her take the child in.

Raelynn fell deep into thought.

Everything about Sierra seemed like one massive, perfectly orchestrated coincidence, all revolving directly around her.

Just as the pieces were clicking into place.

The operating room doors swung open.

"She's losing too much blood, and she has a rare blood type. The hospital's bank is empty," the nurse announced urgently.

At the mention of a rare blood type.

Quentin stood up immediately. "I have a rare blood type. Take mine."

"No!"

Sylvia, who had been completely silent until now, practically screamed.
