Raelynn stepped out of the car.
She stared at the small villa tucked away within the beautiful grove.
Looking past the modern structure, she could almost see the dilapidated two-story house from over a decade ago. When she first arrived back then, the living conditions had been abysmal.
Professor Alistair Finch had been wandering the area, realized the mountain was rich in naturally growing herbs, and bought the rundown property. Then, he met her.
He had left her here to learn how to identify and harvest herbs, immersing herself in the natural environment.
She had lived in that broken-down house for a long time.
Later, they both left.
And no one ever came back.
But right now...
It was a fully built villa that looked like it had been standing there for years.
Raelynn took a deep, steadying breath and pushed the door open.
But there was no sign of Sebastian.
She had guessed from the start that he might be hiding here.
Yet the place was completely empty.
Doubt began to creep into her mind.
Had she guessed wrong?
She stood in the empty courtyard for a long time, circling the villa to double-check, but there truly was no one. Her heart sank heavily in her chest.
She had only given herself a maximum of one week to bring him back for surgery.
But he wasn't here.
His phone was still turned off.
In an instant, the ground seemed to fall out from under her.
The tension left her body, leaving her drained.
She leaned against the wall, taking a long moment to catch her breath.
Her mind raced frantically.
Until...
The distant toll of a bell echoed through the air.
Raelynn looked off into the distance. There was a small temple on the other side of the mountain—The Mountain Chapel.
It wasn't particularly famous, only seeing a sparse handful of visitors who came to offer incense. When she was little and starving, she used to go to the chapel for meals.
Raelynn let out a breath.
Since she was already here...
She figured she might as well go offer a prayer.
For Sebastian.
She didn't dare waste another minute. Turning around, she began the trek up the stone steps to the highest point of the mountain. The climb took her over an hour before she finally reached the chapel gates.
Nestled between the mountain and the water, the scenery was breathtaking.
Raelynn knew the way well.
She walked right through the main entrance.
There were only a few monks in the chapel, but she didn't see any of them.
Instead, beneath a towering ginkgo tree in the courtyard, she saw a tall, familiar silhouette.
He stood there, staring up at the countless wishing ribbons hanging from the branches. The red strings swayed in the breeze. She had no idea what he was looking at.
Raelynn stopped dead in her tracks.
She found him.
He was actually here.
Perhaps the sound of the door opening was too abrupt in such a quiet place. Sebastian instinctively turned around. He saw a figure behind him, slightly blurred.
But that silhouette made his eyes instantly freeze.
It felt like a hallucination.
He saw his Sunny.
These "hallucinations," these "beautiful dreams," weren't exactly a new occurrence for him.
So he didn't move.

The readers' comments on the novel: Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding
I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
