Bound by the Past, Locked by the Heart novel Chapter 129

[Willa, where are you? Randal is losing his mind!!!]

Willa stared at the message, her brows drawing together.

Just as she thought, Randal wasn't going to let her go that easily.

She ignored Miles's text.

Maybe in a few days, his obsession would burn out.

She opened her chat with Sophie.

[Sophie, do you have a spare laptop lying around? Can I borrow it for a few days?]

Sophie replied instantly: [I do. I'll have someone drop it off.]

[Don't send anyone. Just give me your address and I'll come pick it up.]

[Absolutely not. You cannot go outside. I heard that jerk Randal completely lost his mind at the engagement party yesterday. He's way too dangerous right now. Wait there, I'll have Wyatt bring it to you.]

An hour later, the doorbell chimed.

Willa checked the peephole and opened the door only when she confirmed it was Wyatt.

Wyatt handed over a laptop bag.

Willa took the computer and thanked him with a warm smile.

Once Wyatt left, she deadbolted the door, brought the laptop into the living room, and plugged in her flash drive.

For the next few days, Willa locked herself inside the apartment, editing the rest of her footage.

Miles stopped calling her. Her only contact with the outside world was Sophie, who occasionally dropped updates about Randal.

The news was always the same: Randal had beaten someone else up, and the Yates family was in absolute chaos.

On the third day, Sophie sent another text.

[My brother said Randal's dad forcibly admitted him to the hospital.]

Willa's heart skipped a beat: [What happened? Is he sick? Or did his dad beat him up again?]

[Willa-dear, you are completely hopeless!!!]

Another message popped up immediately: [He's physically fine, probably outlive us all. I heard he's seeing a psychiatrist.]

Willa's breath hitched. She suddenly remembered that night, seeing Randal's silhouette standing by the window, smoking in the dark.

[Address please! I want to go buy some.]

[They're closing soon. The whole block is getting demolished...]

[Can the creator film more of these? Make it a series! You got my follow.]

...

Willa stared at the comments, a swell of pride washing over her.

People were actually watching the work she poured her heart into.

Her notifications were blowing up with new comments.

[Hidden gem creator! She actually made a series. Followed! Can't wait for the next update.]

[I haven't seen sugar-figure blowing since I was a kid. I can't believe people still do this.]

[Please give these traditional artisans a way to survive.]

...

That night, her follower count skyrocketed from a few hundred to five thousand.
