Bound by the Past, Locked by the Heart novel Chapter 156

Randal let out a muffled groan of agony, his grip instinctively loosening.

She seized the opening, violently tearing herself from his hold and scrambling off the bed.

Randal reached out to grab her hand, but she easily dodged him.

"Wills... where are you going?"

"Don't call me that," Willa said coldly, not stopping her march toward the door.

"Willa!" His voice rang out from behind her, laced with a hint of grievance. "Do you really hate me that much?"

Willa let out a heavy sigh and looked back at him.

He sat on the bed, his eyes downcast and his expression devastatingly lonely, like an abandoned stray dog.

But she wasn't going to go soft this time.

Her voice dropped to absolute zero. "Listen to me clearly, Randal. If you're sick, get yourself treated. But as for a baby... don't even think about it."

With that, she wrenched the door open and walked out.

For the rest of the day, no matter how much Randal trailed behind her, desperately trying to win her favor, she refused to speak a single word or even give him a second glance.

Knowing he had pushed too far, he didn't dare force the issue. That night, he voluntarily retreated to the master bedroom to sleep.

Willa didn't wake up until nearly noon the next day.

She opened the bedroom door and walked into the living room, freezing the moment she spotted the figure on the sofa.

It was Friday. Randal hadn't gone to work.

Hearing her footsteps, he immediately looked up, a bright spark illuminating his eyes before he carefully dialed it back, terrified of pissing her off again.

"You're awake?"

Willa ignored him. She went into the kitchen, poured herself a glass of water, and stood by the island, drinking slowly.

Footsteps quickly approached from behind.

Randal didn't get too close, stopping a few feet away.

"Are you hungry? I went to your favorite bakery and got your favorite breakfast. It's still warm."

Willa finished her water, set the glass down, and turned to head back to the guest room.
