Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 585

Giselle did not lose her calm or struggle when she saw what happened.

Teddy, who held her hostage, flashed an intimidating smile. He even touched her cheek to provoke Donovan.

Donovan looked like he was about to explode from anger. His blood pressure shot up. How he wished he could shred Teddy into pieces!

But Donovan had no strength left after barely eating anything since yesterday. Pinned down by two men who had hardened from years of manual labor, all he could do was glare helplessly at Teddy.

Giselle might look calm, but her mind was a complete mess.

In the past, when she hadn't yet suffered from the injuries, she would have had full confidence in taking down these thugs herself.

But now, having only just recovered and still weak, she could do nothing but let them have their way and leave her fate to chance.

"One last time—do you agree to let her go with me to raise the money?" Teddy barked at Donovan while keeping Giselle restrained.

Donovan could never agree to Teddy's demand, given that Teddy had already manhandled Giselle. Hatred surged in him as he spat out, "If you so much as lay a finger on Giselle, I'll make sure your whole family pays for it!"

"Fine," Teddy snapped, enraged.

After casting a sharp glance at his two accomplices, he yanked Giselle toward the small grove behind them.

Giselle knew exactly what was about to happen.

Maybe it was because of her experience in Sithora, but she did not resist at all. Instead, she calmly called out to Donovan, "It's alright. Staying alive is what matters. Don't provoke them any further—take care of yourself!"

Watching as his woman was about to be sexually assaulted was probably the most humiliating and darkest moment in his life.

He thought about her health and the risk of relapsing. Then, he imagined the unspeakable things that the thug might do to her.

But the second man wasn't an easy opponent either. He was younger, lean, and wiry with strength. Donovan couldn't take him down that easily.

After exchanging a series of brutal blows, both of them were badly injured.

Hearing his companions' cries for help, Teddy was forced to let go of Giselle and rushed over. The moment he saw one of his men unconscious on the ground, rage flared within him.

Just as Donovan had pinned the second man down and was pummeling him like a sandbag, Teddy charged in and kicked Donovan hard in the head.

A wave of dizziness hit him; his vision spun as searing pain shot through his skull, and blood gushed from his mouth.

But his blood was boiling, and his vision was already clouded red with fury. He could no longer think straight.

Summoning every ounce of strength left in his body, he grabbed hold of Teddy and shouted to Giselle, "Run! Get onto their boat!"
