Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 637

For years, Giselle had dreamed of wresting control of Anson Pharmaceuticals from Renee, reclaiming what once belonged to her grandparents and to her mother, Rebecca.

Every calculated step she had taken with Donovan, every stretch of their tangled, love-and-war relationship, had been for this very moment.

Seeing tears well up in her eyes, Donovan pulled her into his arms.

"I told you. Whatever you want, I'll give it to you. As long as we stay good, everything I have is yours."

"Alright."

His gentle, indulgent tone left her lightheaded, too warm to speak.

At that moment, words felt pointless. The only thing she wanted was to kiss him.

She looped her arms around his neck, stood on her tippy toes, and pressed her mouth to his in a deep, hungry kiss. A moment later, she pushed him down onto the couch and straddled his lap.

In the weeks that followed, they slipped into an intense period of wedding preparations.

Donovan even formed a small team whose sole task was to work with the wedding planners. Outside of his corporate responsibilities, he personally reviewed every design proposal, corrected details, and demanded revisions again and again, all in pursuit of perfection.

Giselle's expression froze for a second. "No."

"Oh." Dorothea paused. "That might be for the best. If you were expecting, you wouldn't be able to exert yourself during the wedding, and we'd have to simplify everything. Since you're not, we'll continue with the current plan."

Grace chimed in with a sharp, mocking sweetness. "Still not pregnant? Giselle, if I remember correctly, it's been almost four months since you came back from the dead. Are you two actively avoiding it? If not, how could there be no news after so long? Is there something wrong with you? You should get checked."

Before Giselle could respond, Dorothea shot Grace a warning glare. "A pregnancy should happen naturally. Either way, let's finish the wedding first."

"Fine," Grace said with an exaggerated smile, her satisfaction thinly disguised. "Given Giselle's condition and all the medication she takes, she really isn't suitable for having a baby right now. We shouldn't pressure her. Besides, we still have Zach. Once he's married in a couple of years, the Kane family won't be lacking children."
