After what Giselle had just seen, she was certain Anne hadn't been back to the Holt residence at all.
Yet, a feeling of dread crept over her.
"Mrs. Holt, should we head home now? Or do you need to go somewhere else?" Hank asked.
She thought for a moment. "Go to Torgal Hospital."
She figured that even if Anne hadn't contacted Renee, it was still possible she'd reached out to Tony in secret. After all, Tony had always been indecisive. His moral boundaries were blurred, and he was indifferent to everything.
He neither loved nor hated his children—he simply didn't care for them. Even when he scolded them, it never stopped him from indulging them afterward.
If Anne had returned and needed medical treatment or something of the sort, it was possible for her to meet Tony in secret.
With this in mind, Giselle headed straight to the hospital.
When she reached Tony's office, she couldn't be bothered to knock. She swung the door open, and in the next instant, she froze.
A woman was sitting sideways on Tony's lap with her arms around his neck, acting intimately with him. She jumped to her feet in shock as soon as she heard the noise.
Giselle was speechless.
The woman appeared to be around 40. Her skin was flawless, and she was well-dressed and elegant. She had the kind of allure that attracted middle-aged men. Although Giselle had no idea what she was working as, she didn't seem like an escort.
Tony looked embarrassed being caught red-handed. He muttered a few words to the woman and told her to leave first.
"Anyway, you're the only daughter I have now. As long as you stay alive and live well, that is all I ask. I'm really not up for any more drama. I still have a surgery scheduled later this afternoon."
Even after all this time, Tony's indifference still caught her off guard.
He lost his son, and his daughter went missing. His wife was suffering from depression, yet as the head of the family, he still carried on with his job and even found time for other women. He only focused on himself and hardly cared about anyone else.
At this rate, Giselle was almost certain he hadn't been in contact with Anne. She turned and left.
When she reached the first floor, she exited from the side of the hospital. She was about to call the driver when her shop's veterinarian phoned to discuss the use of a certain medication.
She stepped into a quiet corner to take the call. Right as she was about to hang up after speaking for a few minutes, she felt someone tugging at her hand.
