Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 664

Renee's threat didn't affect Donovan at all. He was completely at ease, thinking that she was just spouting nonsense.

Giselle snorted.

"Renne, are you mentally ill or paranoid?" she snapped, her voice laced with disdain. "Tell me, what exactly did your daughter go through that has anything to do with my husband?

"Don't forget that Anne was the one who orchestrated the Astrakhan incident behind the scenes. She dragged Don's name through the mud. That's why she fled overseas when everything was exposed, and when she realized she would be held accountable.

"She's been hiding for more than a year. Now that we've withdrawn the lawsuit, she seized the opportunity to pop back up.

"I'm already being generous by not pressing charges of defamation on her. And now you come threatening us. Are you trying to make us throw her in jail?"

When it came to acting shamelessly and playing the victim, Giselle considered herself far better at it than the old hag standing before her.

"Do you think I wouldn't dare to sue Donovan?" Renee fumed, her chest heaving with anger. "Listen, I've already lost enough. If you back me into a corner, I'll spend the rest of my life fighting you—especially you, Donovan. I will never let you go easily after what you've done to my daughter!"

Donovan's expression remained calm.

"Go ahead," he replied evenly.

He didn't bother listening to another word. He got up and prepared to leave, but Giselle wasn't going to dismiss Renee's threat so easily.

She closed in on Renee and met her gaze. "Your daughter's back, yet you still want to act like the victim and shamelessly seek justice. Then tell me, should I press charges for what you've done to my grandparents and my mom too?"
