Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 692

That night, Giselle stopped dwelling on the matter, and the two of them fell asleep early.

The next morning was a weekend, and neither of them went to the office.

Since she needed moderate exercise during her pregnancy, Donovan decided to take her for a walk in a nearby park.

For safety, he brought Chris along. Chris temporarily took the driver's seat, replacing Hank and focusing on the road ahead.

Giselle brought her dog, Kali, and sat in the back with Donovan. She alternated between petting Kali, admiring the scenery gliding past the window, and leaning close to Donovan to tease him or whisper something lighthearted.

On a day that finally felt peaceful, going out with the man she loved felt almost surreal. Her mood was as bright as the clear, breezy weather.

Donovan was just as relaxed. He kept an arm loosely wrapped around her waist, his gaze drifting out the window before eventually settling, almost unconsciously, on Chris.

From the front seat, Chris drove with unbroken focus, silent and unmoving like a carved figure.

Donovan quietly noted that when Chris wasn't directly facing him, his expression lacked its usual respectful restraint. The sharp line of his profile held a cold, almost forbidding edge.

Just then, Donovan's phone rang. It was a work call. Despite his irritation, he still answered. Over the next 20 minutes, the phone rang three more times, and messages kept coming in, demanding responses.

They finally reached the wetland park six miles away.

Chris pulled up at the entrance, stepped out first, and opened the back door for them.

Giselle climbed out and immediately bent to lift Kali from the seat.
