Donovan had chosen to avoid the topic in order to help Giselle move on. All he cared about was that she'd survived. He didn't care about anything else.
So, Giselle figured he'd probably find it weird that she'd woken him up just to tell him that Chris was Orin.
Still, sleep eluded her now that she'd figured out Orin's secret. She ended up lying on her side as her mind kept replaying just how Chris had been introduced to their home, how he'd applied to be a bodyguard for their household, and how he'd gradually become one of them.
The more she dwelled on it, the more terrified she felt. Soon, her brain began to protest.
Nevertheless, she forced herself to keep her cool to prevent her agitation from affecting the baby. Then, she forced herself to stop thinking about it and go to sleep.
Alas, it took her until 6:00 am before she finally managed to crawl back to slumber. Even so, it was mainly because she was exhausted.
Unfortunately, her fear and overactive brain only caused her to be plagued by a dream that could only be described as a tangled ball of yarn.
By the time she finally got up, the sun was already hanging in the sky. She blearily squinted at the clock on the wall only to find that it was already 10:30 am!
As expected, Donovan was no longer sleeping next to her.
He'd probably woken up early as per usual. He'd likely quietly snuck out of bed, afraid of disturbing her while she slept. Then, he went on to wash up and head downstairs for breakfast before going straight to the company.
Giselle blankly stared at the ceiling as the baby in her belly started kicking once more. She felt awful. She might have slept, but she still felt so tired. Nonetheless, her heart immediately went into overdrive when she thought of the picture last night.
