Giselle kept a straight face and didn't say anything.
Vivienne asked again, "By the way, I heard… Anne was arrested for drug trafficking. What's the real story? I see Renee still won't give up on appealing, insisting her daughter was framed. It's so ridiculous."
"With a woman like her, nothing she does surprises me," Giselle replied evenly.
"But do you know what Renee said to me?"
"What?"
"She actually claimed her daughter was set up by Donovan and sent to prison, and she even wanted me to help beg you for mercy. It's laughable!"
Hearing this, Giselle let out a cold laugh. "She's desperate now. Let's see how much longer she can keep this up."
"Exactly. I think she's lost it."
After venting, Vivienne switched to a more gossipy expression and lowered her voice. "But honestly, I really am curious. Anne's case… it doesn't actually have anything to do with Donovan, does it?"
Giselle's heart sank. "Why would you ask that?"
"Ahem," Vivienne put on a casual tone. "Do I even need to ask? Honestly, I think Anne brought it on herself! Didn't she once scheme to fake a rape case to frame Donovan? Absolutely disgusting! You setting her up and putting her behind bars… well, that really shut her up for good."
Giselle didn't respond directly. "The second appeal hasn't come out yet. I'm just worried Renee will keep stirring trouble. Only when the final verdict is issued will this truly be settled."
Vivienne nodded, her voice dropping to a barely audible whisper. "I'm genuinely curious. Where did Donovan get all those drugs to frame Anne? Isn't he afraid of being traced? I'm actually worried about you two. After all, Anne didn't really do this. What if the police uncover the truth?"
Hearing this, Giselle's heart began to beat a little faster for no clear reason
