"We are going to Kori's territory. It is your old stomping ground, isn't it?" Donovan teased Chris slightly before walking straight to the prepared car nearby.

Chris stood frozen for a few seconds before following him immediately.

They sat in the back of the van. Hank and an assistant were in the front. There were only four people in the vehicle.

Donovan had clearly made preparations and pulled some strings.

The border officials simply checked Donovan's documents and asked a few questions before letting them leave the country.

They drove all the way toward the Gold Delta.

"What exactly is your second plan?" Chris was worried. He saw that Donovan had brought no men and no weapons. They were driving single-handedly into that dangerous place as if they were tourists.

Of course, he was more worried about Billy's safety.

However, Donovan appeared cold and indifferent throughout the journey. He made phone calls from time to time.

He instructed Chris, "Call Kori. Tell him you are on your way back. Tell him you can wire the money tomorrow morning at the earliest. Make him ensure your son's safety."

Chris failed to understand what Donovan was plotting. Still, he took out his phone and made the call.

He stifled his immense hatred and spoke to Kori in fluent Malithornian. "I agree with your proposal. I am returning to the country today, and I will transfer the money to you tomorrow. But let me be clear. If you dare to hurt my son and destroy my last hope, I will show you what true cruelty is."

Kori was smug upon hearing this. "Fine. Come back and transfer the money as I requested. Everything will be fine. I want to see the notification of the 50 million dollars arrival before noon tomorrow."

He hung up after saying this.

Donovan could not understand Malithornian. He only heard the various ending sounds of the sentences. He was used to hearing Chris speak the language of Valanthea. He found it slightly amusing to hear Chris speak his mother tongue with such an angry tone even though the atmosphere was serious and tense.

The car arrived in a small county town in the northern province after driving for several hours.
