“Serena, you’re home too?” Donald asked.
Serena’s eyes darkened. “Dad, today’s grandma’s mourning period.”

Donald’s expression stiffened slightly. “Oh, right. I completely forgot. Seriously, why didn’t you tell me earlier? What if I had plans tonight? I’d be missing it.”
“If you miss it, you miss it,” she said softly. “It’s not like this is the only thing you’ve missed.”
“You little brat! Where do you get off saying stuff like that? By the way, Serena, I haven’t asked–are the people in this photo you and Sebastian?” Donald held up his phone, eyes full of anticipation.
Serena glanced at it, a little surprised. “Who sent this to you? Were you stalking me?”
“You little brat, what are you talking about? I’m not following you around for fun. Kyana sent this to me. She saw you shopping yesterday.”
Of course, he didn’t mention any of the nasty things Kyana had said about Serena. But even if he didn’t, Serena already knew Kyana wouldn’t say anything nice about her.
“Come on, tell me–is that really Sebastian?” Donald urged.
She met his eager gaze and nodded. “Yes.”
He couldn’t hide his delight.
“Dad, it’s time to get Grandma’s memorial food ready.”
After the mourning period ended, Serena checked the time. It was precisely 6 p.m.
She went to the kitchen and saw that the congee on the stove had just finished cooking.
Sherry was curious. “Ms. Steele, are you planning to eat this here?”
Serena shook her head. “No. Sherry, can you grab an insulated container for me? I’m taking all of it with me.”
‘We’ve got one. I’ll go get it for you!”
Serena didn’t linger. She packed up the fish congee and headed over to Sebastian’s villa.
When Serena got through the gate, the place was tranquil. Not a single servant in sight.
Looks like his housekeeper really is taking the day off.
She pressed the doorbell and heard a weak, low male voice, “Rena, you know the code. Just come in. I can’t get up.
Is he really this sick? Then how does he even get home? He should be in the hospital

Serena stepped inside. No sign of him on the first floor. She slipped into her slippers and headed straight upstairs. “Sebastian?”
“Here.” The low voice came softly from inside the room.
She carried the thermal container and pushed the door open. There he was, a man leaning against the bed, his complexion a little pale. “Sebastian, are you okay?”
Sebastian shook his head. “I’m fine, just a little cold.”
She set down the container and ignored manners entirely. She sat on the edge of his bed and pressed the back of her hand to his forehead. Then she frowned. “You’re a little warm. Sebastian, you have a fever,”
