Eugene shook his head. “I’m good. I’m not made of glass.”
He had no idea someone had just added him to their personal hit list.

Serena stepped into the restroom. She hadn’t expected to run into someone she seriously didn’t want to
SCC.
Nathan’s brows pulled tight. His voice came out low and sharp. “Serena. Back again?”
Back again?
Serena smiled, polite but distant. “Hello, Mr. Levine.”
Technically, the title didn’t fit anymore. With her new role in the family, she could have just called him Nathan.
The age gap still made it weird. But marrying Sebastian had changed the dynamic.
Nathan’s eyes held a flicker of contempt. “You here for Sebastian?”
Serena smiled faintly. “I’m here with the legal team. We’ve got business to handle.”
“Right.” Nathan’s tone didn’t soften. His smile was sly. “Serena, I didn’t think your ambition ran this deep.”
That was enough. Serena dropped the fake warmth.
“You should say that to Sebastian.”
all be hit the gaze turned dool.
Pan Bling”
“He just married you. You’re still new. Of course he’s doting.
“But let’s be honest. The gap between Y 0 isn’t small. How long do you think his attention will last?”
Serena didn’t flinch. “He’s your brother. Isn’t it strange, talking about your own sibling like that?”
“And even if it doesn’t last,” she added, “at least it lasted longer than your son’s interest.”
Nathan’s smirk vanished. His expression turned ice cold.
“You’re confident, I’ll give you that. But let me say this. If you’re doing all this just to get back at my son, you’re wasting your own future. Is it really worth it?”
Serena didn’t blink. Her lips curved into a cold smile. “Only I get to decide what’s worth it.”
That ended it.
Nathan realized he’d misjudged her all along.

Chapter 196 Shivering
Neither noticed the tall figure standing just out of sight.
Sebastian held a folder and quietly turned back toward his office.
Daniel had just finished a phone call. He turned around and saw the CEO was gone.
He dialed. “Sir, where’d you go?”
“I’ll review the file later. I’ve got something to handle. Let them leave.”

Daniel had expected the CEO would want to see his wife. But one phone call later, all that had flipped.
Reading Sebastian’s mood was impossible.
Daniel walked back into the room with a pleasant smile. “Sorry. The CEO’s caught up at the moment. He’ll go over the file and follow up later. Appreciate your time today.”
Serena closed her laptop and packed up.
As the group headed toward the elevator, Eugene realized he’d forgotten something. He told Serena to wait downstairs.
She stood in front of the elevator doors. They opened to an empty space. She hesitated, thinking she might wait.
Before she could make a decision, a pair of polished black shoes stepped inside. She looked up and her breath caught.
Sebastian stood there, his face cold and unreadable. Daniel entered behind him and hit the fifth–floor button. Sebastian didn’t move.
He didn’t so much as glance her way.
Serena’s chest tightened. Was it because Daniel was there? Was he brushing her off on purpose?
The sudden distance made her uneasy, but she kept her posture./”Hello, Mr. Levine. Mr. Hart.”
Sebastian answered with a short, flat hum.
Serena didn’t try again. She stepped into the back corner and stayed quiet.
