Chapter 199 Midnight Society
Trevor shook his head. “She’s here. She went to fix her makeup.
“Come on,” one of them teased. “She doesn’t need it. She’s gorgeous without it.”
Once, praise for Amber made Trevor proud.
Now, he didn’t even know what he felt.
On their wedding night, they had slept in different rooms.
“Alright, knock it off.”
As soon as he said it, Amber walked into the room with Kyana on her arm.
The guys looked up and greeted her. “Hey, Amber.”
When Kyana followed, the greetings turned cold. Just a few disinterested nods.
No one in that room cared about the Steeles. Not even enough to fake it.

If Donald himself walked in, they’d barely acknowledge him. So Kyana? She wasn’t getting anything more.
Her eyes shifted, but she didn’t let anything show.
“Trevor, when’s the honeymoon happening?”
That started it. The rest joined in.
“Yeah, man. When’s the trip? Want us to help you plan it?”
It had been days since the wedding. Trevor and Amber still hadn’t had a single private night.
He hadn’t touched her.
Amber had been waiting for that trip. She wanted to give herself to him. She thought a romantic vacation would be perfect.
But then what Trevor said made Amber’s heart sink.
“Not now. Work’s been nonstop. Amber’s packed too. We’ll go later.”
Kyana had been ready to help her friend. She didn’t expect Trevor to shoot her down in front of everyone.

Kyana threw another jab. “Trevor, it’s your honeymoon. You can’t just push it off.”
“Enough, Kyana.” Amber’s voice cut like glass.
She forced a smile. “Come with me to the restroom.”
Before Kyana could react, Amber dragged her out of the room.
The second they were gone, the guys looked around.
“Uh… think Amber’s mad?”
Trevor pressed his lips together. Let her be.
Amber’s tantrums were routine now. He barely noticed.
Out in the hallway, Amber pulled her arm away. “Were you mocking me back there?”
Kyana looked stunned. “What? No. Amber, how could you think that? You’re my best friend.”
Amber scoffed inside. If she was going to lie, she should try harder.

The only reason she kept Kyana around was to use her. She needed help dealing with Serena. Otherwise they wouldn’t be speaking.
“Stop bringing up the honeymoon. Trevor already talked to me about it. Once we both have time, we’ll g
“And I know he loves me. Every day with him feels like a honeymoon.”
Kyana nearly laughed. That denial was thick.
But she kept her voice soft. “You’re right. That was my fault. I’m sorry. Please don’t take it personally.”
As they stood in the hallway, Kyana’s gaze caught a flash of blue.
“Amber, look over there. Isn’t that her?”
Amber glanced without thinking. The moment she saw the woman in the blue dress, her whole face dropped.
Serena had known she’d be meeting Sebastian’s friends. She hadn’t wanted to embarrass him. So she’d worn a blue dress. Elegant. Fitted. Perfect.
