Chapter 224 Desperate Trevor
Trevor clicked his tongue. “Why did you close the door? Open it. You don’t smell that weird scent in here?”
Poppy didn’t respond. A beat of silence passed between them.
He hadn’t acted like this before. Today was different.
She cleared her throat and forced a polite smile. “Apologies, Mr. Levine. Maybe housekeeping missed a spot.”
She rushed to open the door wider.
“Open it more. And tone down your perfume. It’s stinging my eyes.” His tone could’ve frozen fire.
Poppy clenched her jaw. “Of course.”

Trevor sat facing the hallway, tossing out questions about contract terms without any real interest. Poppy tried to keep up, but h wasn’t listening. His eyes never stopped drifting toward the hallway.
“Mr. Levine? Mr. Levine?”
He blinked. “Right. Your explanation was fine. Actually, I’ve got time tonight. Since it’s our second year working with Beaumont, how about we bring everyone together? You, Mr. Beaumont, their team, Levine Studios. We could have dinner.”
Poppy didn’t love the idea of Eugene being there, but this was Trevor extending a hand. She was not turning it down.
“Great. I’ll go arrange that right now.
“Your company is a major client. We should be the ones hosting you.”
She practically ran down the hall to report to Adam. With Chris away, she had to get approval elsewhere.
Eugene heard the admin’s update and didn’t bother hiding his annoyance.
He had no interest in sitting across from that man.
He kept his tone neutral. “Alright.”
Inside, he was relieved. He’d told Serena to go straight home after court today. No way she’d be dragged into this mess.
He looked across the office at Shawn. “Serena’s out today. You’ve handled Levine Studios before, right?”
Shawn nodded. “I have.”
“Good. You’re coming with me tonight.” When Trevor showed up to the dinner, confident and expecting someone else, and saw Shawn walking in behind Eugene, his face dropped.
He stiffened. “Mr. Beaumont, Serena’s not coming?”
Eugene couldn’t stand fake sentiment. “She’s spending the evening at home. Anniversary with her husband Said she couldn’t make it.”

Chapter 224 Desperate Trevor
Everyone at the table looked up. “Wait, Serena’s married?”
“She is. She just didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. Her husband treats her really well. They’re happy.”
Trevor’s stomach twisted. He grabbed his drink and downed it in one go.
Eugene leaned in with a slow smirk. “You’re in a good mood tonight, Mr. Levine. Let me toast with you.”
He had no intention of letting Trevor off easy.
Eugene slid in right next to him. Poppy had to move down the table.
With Eugene and Adam flanking him, Trevor had no way out. He drank one bitter glass after another.
It didn’t take long before he couldn’t even find the restroom.
Eugene ended up dragging him there.
Trevor’s voice slurred. “Rena… you’re really cruel.”
