The butler stepped forward, carrying a large bag. Without hesitation, he tossed it outside the gate.
“Ms. Jacobs, these are the belongings you left behind in the house,” he said coldly. “You’d better leave as soon as possible. If Mr. Trevor sees you, he’ll only get angry.”
“Alistair, have you lost your mind?” Amber shouted. “I’m Amber! I’m Trevor’s wife!”
At that moment, Trevor stepped out from behind Alistair. Without a word, he threw a document at her feet.
It was a divorce agreement.
“From today on, you’re not,” Trevor said flatly. “If you know what’s good for you, sign it. If you refuse, I still have ways to cut you out of my life completely.“.
Amber stood there, stunned.
“Trevor, what’s wrong with you? I’m your wife. I’m Amber!”
She reached out, trying to grab his arm, but Trevor immediately stepped back.
“Don’t touch me! You disgust me!” His voice was filled with revulsion. “When you had that one–night stand with that foreigner, did you remember you were my wife? When you put those horns on my head, did you remember you were my wife? Amber, you make me sick. You’re even more revolting than the rats in a sewer.”
The thought of all the kindness he had once shown her made Trevor feel like he had swallowed a fly. Deanna hadn’t planned to come outside.
But the more she thought about it, the angrier she became.
She suddenly rushed forward and slapped Amber twice–hard.
“And you still have the nerve to come back?” she shouted. “You’ve humiliated my son! You ungrateful wretch! Amber, what did our family ever do to wrong you that you would treat my son like this? You’re nothing but a heartless ingrate!”
Even after yelling, Deanna still wasn’t satisfied. She raised her hand and slapped Amber two more times.
“Still don’t understand? That ridiculous little show you staged–we already know all about it. And you even abandoned your own child! That baby came from your own flesh and blood, and you still threw him away. How cruel can you be? Get out of here! I never want to see you again for the rest of my life—or even hear your name!”
Amber stood there in a daze, both cheeks swollen and burning.
“How… How did this happen…”

How did they all find out?
When the gates of the Levine Residence slowly closed again, Amber finally realized something.
Her life was over.
Just then, a stern, icy male voice sounded behind her.

“Excuse me, are you Amber Jacobs? There’s a case involving the abandonment of a baby boy. Please come with us to assist with the investigation.”
With a dull thud, Amber collapsed to the ground.
Serena stayed with Sebastian at the hospital all night. They had taken an empty room next to Bryce’s ward.
Sebastian wanted her to sleep more comfortably, so he kept watch for the first half of the night while Nathan took the second half.
By the time the doctors made their morning rounds, Bryce looked much better.
Serena hadn’t slept well. Her sleep had been broken, filled with strange dreams. In one of them, a little child kept chasing her down a long road.
When she woke up, her legs felt strangely sore, as if she had really run a marathon.
Sebastian leaned down and kissed the restless woman, smiling softly.
“Honey, I’m sorry you had to go through this.”
Serena smiled back.
“It’s nothing. Dad is very important to me too.”
In a hospital room upstairs, Amber slowly regained consciousness.
For some reason, luck seemed to be on her side.
When the doctor told her that she was truly pregnant, tears of excitement streamed down her face.
“Let me borrow a phone,” she said urgently. “I need to call my husband!”
She had to tell Trevor the good news.
