Chapter 396 The Secret He Regretted Keeping
Sebastian’s dark eyes shone. “Yes.”
It made sense. Even his username was a combination of their names.
Serena hesitated. “So… you already liked me back then?”
As expected, Sebastian answered without the slightest doubt, “Yes.”

Serena wrapped her arms around him and rubbed her head against the hollow of his neck. “Why didn‘ you tell me? If you’d told me earlier, maybe…”
“Maybe you would’ve fallen in love with me first?”
Sebastian let out a self–mocking chuckle. “Serena. You were still underage back then. Who knew that the rose I’d been watching for so long would get carried off by someone else in the blink of an eye?”
Just as Bryce had once said, Sebastian followed the rules he believed in almost to a fault.
Except for this one time.
Whenever he thought about it now, regret always crept in.
If he had appeared before Trevor got engaged to her, would Serena have fallen for him first?
It was a question no one could answer–not even Serena herself.
That was why, if not for the game earlier, Sebastian never would have planned to tell her about this small episode between them.
“Honey, I love you a little more today.” Serena murmured.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, clearly displeased. “Only a little?”
Serena closed her eyes, her long lashes trembling slightly as she leaned forward and kissed him.
Sebastian gave the initiative back to her, enjoying her boldness, savoring the way she kissed and gently sucked at his lips.
Inside the small tent, the sounds of the two of them tangled together were unmistakably clear.
Embarrassingly so.
Just one second after Sebastian’s fingers slipped along the curve of her back, Serena’s phone suddenly
rang.
Both of them jumped.
Flustered, Serena hurriedly pulled the vibrating phone from her pocket. The name flashing on the screen was her colleague–Lily.

“Hey, Serena! Why aren’t you in your tent? I was about to drag you out for some photos.”

Serena stammered awkwardly, “Oh–uh, Lily. I went to the restroom. I’m not feeling very well today, so I won’t be hanging out with you guys.”
Someone beside her wickedly nipped her earlobe, his tongue teasing along the rim of her ear
Serena’s breathing instantly grew uneven. She pinched her own thigh hard just to stop herself from making a sound.
“Lily, my dog woke me up last night, and I didn’t sleep well. You guys go have fun. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Alright then,” Lily said, sounding a little disappointed. “See you tomorrow.”
Still, she couldn’t quite remember Serena ever mentioning she had a dog.
After hanging up, Serena glared at the man beside her, both embarrassed and annoyed. “Sebastian, are you a dog or something?”
“Woof!”
After barking once, Sebastian seemed to discover the joy of playing the dog.
“Honey, sleep here with me tonight. I can’t sleep without you.”
Serena kept pushing away his head as he rubbed against her. His soft hair brushed her neck, making it itch. “Stop it, Sebastian. If someone finds out, I’m dead.”
“No one will find out. Someone’s keeping watch for us.”
Serena was speechless.
Outside, Mason suddenly sneezed hard.
Pulling his coat around himself, he stepped out of his tent and carefully fastened the zipper of Serena’s tent shut with a safety lock. That way, no one would realize she wasn’t inside.
Afterward, he rubbed his sore nose and trudged back to his own tent.
