Chapter 452 Back From Abroad
“Did you tell Grandpa, Amber?”
Amber looked innocent. “Lucinda, it wasn’t me. I didn’t say anything.”
Lucinda had only been dating for one day before Bryce broke them up.
“Grandpa, who told you?” she asked, puffing up in anger.
Bryce rolled his eyes. “Does it matter who said it? You’re only fifteen. You shouldn’t be thinking about this kind of stuff. After your college entrance exams, when you turn eighteen, I won’t interfere anymore.”
Lucinda shut herself in her room again.
What her family didn’t know was that her so–called boyfriend mostly talked to her about studying.
At first, she wanted to distract him and mess up his focus. They ended up in the same class again in high school, and she wanted to be at the top of the class.
Now her plan had completely failed.
“Sorry, let’s break up. My grandpa won’t let me hang out with you anymore.”
“Lucinda, can we just keep it secret? We won’t let your grandpa find out. I… I like you.”
Lucinda rejected him without hesitation. “Sorry.”
Her one–day trial of dating ended.
What she didn’t know was that on that day, a boy had shown up in front of Bryce with bags in his hands and reported her short–lived puppy love.
That was also the first time Amber took the blame for someone else.
Julian held their daughter and coaxed her to sleep while Lucinda scrolled through her phone.
“Why did Logan Brody send me a wedding invite?”
Julian’s gaze sharpened.

“Who’s Logan Brody?”
Lucinda shook her head. “Oh, you don’t know him. He was our high school classmate. He was number one in our grade.”
Julian said, “Oh. Then are you going?”
“No. We haven’t talked in forever. I’m not wasting money on that.”
The man turned his back and curled his lips into a smile. “Yeah, not going is good. He’s not important anyway.”
“Berry, I’m right, aren’t I?”
Adelina blinked her bright, watery eyes and agreed with him, making a soft baby sound.
See?
Berry agrees with me.
After studying abroad for a year. Julian returned to the country. The Levine and Hill families had plans to arrange a marriage between them.
Right after he got off the plane, he got a call from Lucinda.
“Hello, Julian, where are you?”
“I just got off the plane,” he said.
Lucinda sent him an address. He told the driver to take him to that restaurant first, then send his luggage home.
“Julian, do you know that my grandpa and your grandpa want to set up an engagement for us?”
A faint light flashed in Julian’s eyes. “Yeah, I know.”
“I think this engagement isn’t right. It feels weird. How could we possibly get married?”
Julian didn’t understand. “Why not?”
Lucinda paused for a second, then spoke. “It’s just not right. We’ve argued since we were kids. How can we get married like that? And I’ve always seen you as more like an older brother.”
Julian let out a light scoff. “I don’t remember you calling me that often.”
