“SpicyBurger: Tartking and I found a puzzle dungeon. We both changed classes. I’ma Warrior, she’s a Priest. We’re just waiting on you now.”
“PineappleBeer: What? You guys already changed classes? I’ve been trying to hunt down some cards for you. I found one and was hoping to find another so I could bring them both.”
“SpicyBurger: Hehe, thanks for the thought, but we’re a step ahead! See you tomorrow.”
“PineappleBeer: Roger that. Night!”
“Spicy Burger: Night.”
Outsice the hollow, the wind howled and Nocturnal Beasts prowled the shadows, but inside, the warm glow remained steady.
Early next morning, the mist in the Deadwood Grove had yet to clear.
“Screach–!!!*
A sudden alarm from the apes broke the silence. Several monkeys came screaming toward the girls‘ resting area.
Riley’s eyes snapped open. She rolled off her mat in an instant, her Storm Splitter Dual Axes already in hand. She only lowered them once she saw it was just the monkeys.
TartKing sat up, rubbing her sleepy eyes.
“Ugh… what’s with the noise?”
“Eek! Ack!”
An ape stood before Tartking, gesturing wildly. It pointed at her, then reached up to show a height slightly taller than herself.
It was clearly trying to say, “That tall human you told us to look for? She’s here.”
The two rushed out of the hollow and climbed to the lookout point.
In the distance, at the edge of the grove, a dozen elite apes had formed a circle. They were baring their fangs and screeching, holding their bows and stones high, though they hadn’t attacked yet.
Standing opposite them was a dark silhouette.
It was a woman in tight–fitting leather armor, her face partially obscured by a black mask.
She held two daggers coated in a toxic green glow in a reverse grip. She’d clearly just arrived. Even though Tartking had mentioned the monkeys, she wasn’t sure if this was the right tribe, so she was waiting for a message confirmation before moving.
“PineappleBeer?!”
Riley’s voice echoed through the trees.
The dark figure paused, looked up toward the hollow, and the cold intensity in her eyes vanished instantly.
TartKing quickly signaled the apes to stand down and let PineappleBeer through.

On their way back. Tartking managed to sniff out a Silver Chest hidden in a hollowed out trunk.
Riley was officially sold on Tartking’s god–tier luck and decided that opening chests would be her job from now on.

By the time the two made it back to the Deadwood Grove, night had completely fallen.
The normally silent, pitch–black forest was now buzzing with activity, lit up by several Glow–Crystals.
“Screech! Screech!”
The elite apes on sentry duty spotted their favorite “sugar mommies” immediately. They leaped from the trees, circling TartKing with wild excitement.
They were clutching all sorts of offerings: exotic berries, shimmering ore shards, and even a Flame–feathered Chicken that had been tied up like a holiday roast.
“Is this our daily tribute?”
Riley raised an eyebrow, impressed by the monkeys‘ efficiency.
TartKing giggled as she handed out bags of cookies as “wages.” Like a general inspecting her troops, she directed the apes to haul the loot into the main hollow for sorting.
Back in the familiar warmth of the tree hollow, Riley let out a long sigh of relief as she sank into a fur mat.
TartKing was busy cataloging the spoils.
“Riley! We hit the jackpot today! My bag is half–full of rare materials, and I leveled up too!”
The girl’s face was flushed, partly from excitement and partly from the trek.
“I’m gonna go see what else the boys found today,” TartKing said.
