Seeing Cynthia rush off in such a hurry, a staff member respectfully called after her, “Miss Tremaine, where are you going?”
“I have something I need to verify,” Cynthia replied, pulling out her phone to message the new owner of the villa as she walked. “You all can continue with your work.”
The staff member nodded and walked to the elevator, pressing the down button for her. The doors slid open, and Cynthia stepped inside, only to find Zoey standing there, holding a laptop.
“Miss Tremaine, this is Benedict’s computer,” Zoey said, handing it over as she was about to step out.
Cynthia’s eyes fell on the edge of the laptop, and her expression flickered. This wasn't Benedict’s laptop; it was the one she had used during her time at VistaSphere Group. She remembered it had been knocked once, leaving a small chip in the paint on the corner.
She paused, opened the computer to check it, then handed it back to Zoey. “Put this with the other computers found in Benedict’s office. Have the tech team from Holloway Enterprises check them for any hidden programs.” If Benedict had turned in her computer, his own must still be hidden somewhere.
Cynthia glanced down at her phone. The current owner of the villa hadn’t replied to her message.
Meanwhile, Dominic received a call. He answered with a detached look, and the person on the other end spoke quickly. “Mr. Holloway, Miss Tremaine says she wants to come to the villa to look for something she left behind.”
Dominic’s brow furrowed. “Tell her everything inside has been cleared out,” he said coldly, and hung up.
