*Crash—*
A loud bang echoed as the fragrance bottle hit the mirrored wall behind Julianne. It was immediately followed by another loud crack as the mirror exploded.
“Ahhh!!” Julianne, who was all bark and no bite, screamed in terror and scrambled away, covering her head.
“What are you doing?!”
Aurelia, along with two student council members, had just reached the second-floor restroom when she heard the commotion. She walked in to see the chaotic scene.
Bianca nonchalantly pointed to the girl in the corner. “Oh, you’re just in time. Julianne was bullying a student, and Vivienne and I stepped in to do the right thing. No need to thank us.”
“Bianca, you’re lying!” Julianne shrieked, pointing at Vivienne. “She was the one bullying the student! You, over there, tell her! Who was bullying you just now?”
The girl glanced timidly at Julianne, then raised her finger and pointed at Vivienne. “It was…”
Bianca was furious and lunged forward to attack. “Have you lost your mind? Are you really going to bite the hand that just fed you? Have you no shame?”
The girl flinched in fear.
Vivienne raised a hand to stop Bianca, her gaze sweeping coolly over the girl in the corner.
It was just like last time.
Julianne had tried to force Vivienne to punish this girl. Back then, Vivienne had been too timid to do it, so Julianne made her watch as two of her other followers did the job, claiming it was a live demonstration for Vivienne’s benefit.
Later, the girl became depressed and attempted suicide. Her parents brought reporters to the school demanding justice. Under public pressure, the school officials had the girl identify her assailant. But to Vivienne’s shock, out of the four people present, the girl had only pointed at her.
For the privileged, such games of hunting were trivial. But once exposed, they were condemned as inhuman. Vivienne had tried to defend herself, but Serena had told her to take the fall. By confessing, she would protect Julianne, and the Whitmore family would owe them a favor.
And so, the label of a malicious person was pinned on her.
Bianca was also unhappy. She was about to speak but was stopped by Vivienne. Confused, she looked at Vivienne, only to see that her eyes were fixed on Aurelia—or more accurately, on something above Aurelia’s head.
“What is it?” Bianca whispered.
Vivienne calmly averted her gaze and shook her head. “Don’t waste your breath.”
Bianca didn’t understand, but she obediently kept quiet.
Aurelia turned to the students with her and said gently, “You two take this student to the nurse’s office. She’s frightened, let her rest.”
These two students didn’t have Aurelia’s family background and were eager to get away. They quickly helped the girl from the corner to her feet and left the scene.
Julianne frowned, sizing her up. “Aurelia, what do you mean by that?”
Aurelia’s gaze was calm. “While there are no cameras in the restroom, there are in the hallway. A student said they saw you roughly dragging that student in here. So, it’s not impossible that she’s temporarily lying out of fear of you.”
