Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 22

She hadn’t felt this kind of warmth since her awakening. To think that someone truly cared for her so much that they were ready to give her the world just because she had suffered a minor slight.

“Grandpa…”

Seeing her eyes redden as if she were about to cry, Caspian quickly soothed her. “In a few days, when we have some free time, I’ll take you to see it. I remember there are natural springs behind the manor. We can have a few pools built for you, so you can soak in them whenever you like. And if you’re worried about being lonely, I’ll have another house built and have your mother and sister move in with you.”

Vivienne’s heart skipped a beat, and her expression cooled considerably. “That won’t be necessary. Grandpa, I don’t need them with me.”

There was clearly something wrong with Serena. Until she dealt with that problem, she absolutely could not let her know about the Onyx Manor.

She wasn’t an adult yet, which meant she was constrained in many ways. Serena was her legal guardian; if she wanted to cause trouble, it would be all too easy.

Caspian was a bit surprised. The girl used to think of Serena in everything she did. Why was she acting so differently today?

Not wanting her change in attitude to seem too abrupt, Vivienne explained, “Grandpa, Mom plays favorites. I don’t want to deal with her or Isabella right now.”

The old man had never approved of Serena’s behavior and had only tolerated it for the children’s sake. Hearing this, he nodded in agreement. “Alright! Grandpa will listen to you.”

After the dessert, Caspian had Vivienne stay for dinner. The old man’s spirits lifted with the company, and he even helped himself to a second serving. Cedric, watching from the side, felt that the young miss from the Lexton family seemed much more spirited now.

The old man and the young girl chatted about everything under the sun, their questions and answers creating a remarkably warm scene in the courtyard.

Cedric tactfully withdrew from the courtyard, but just as he stepped out, he saw someone approaching from the covered walkway.

“Yes, sir.”

The young man called ‘Cyril’ stepped out from the backlight. When Cedric saw his features clearly, his breath caught in his throat, and he momentarily lost his composure.

The boy had a pair of striking, aristocratic eyes, long and sharp. Noticing Cedric’s stare, he gave a slight nod. His eyelids first lifted, then half-lowered in a smile. The moment his eyes lit up with amusement, there was a stunning feeling, like clouds parting to reveal the dawn.

All the children of Obsidian Estate were handsome, with Vivienne possessing a devastating beauty among the girls and Alaric a noble grace among the boys. But this teenager’s appearance was so overwhelming that even with those precedents, Cedric couldn't help but be captivated.

“And this is?” Cedric asked, looking at Dorian with confusion.

Dorian glanced at the young man beside him. “My son, Cyril.”
