Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 234

Julian rolled his eyes. "You're seriously praising her for that? You think that little gremlin has that kind of self-control? She's just broke. Don't forget, Grandpa, you just docked her allowance. I guarantee she's fuming about her money and doesn't want to talk to you right now."

"Who said that? Julian, talk behind someone's back and you'll get what's coming to you."

Right on cue, Vivienne sprinted into the room like a gust of wind. "Grandpa~"

Caspian's eyes lit up. He had never seen Vivienne dressed like this before. Ditching her usual extravagant dresses, she wore a simple white t-shirt, jeans, and a baseball cap. It gave her a vibrant, youthful energy.

Julian irritably flicked the brim of her cap. "Who are you calling Julian? Where are your manners?"

"Who are you lecturing?" Caspian raised his cane and smacked Julian right on the back of the head.

"..." Julian was rendered utterly speechless.

After a bit more banter, the butler announced that lunch was ready. The maids slid open the twelve intricately carved wooden doors, instantly merging the tearoom with the dining hall.

Playing the perfect host, Caspian beamed at his guests. "Come, come, let's eat."

The patriarchs of the Everhart, Blackthorne, and Montclair families walked ahead with Caspian. The younger generation trailed behind in small groups.

As they took their seats, Bianca grabbed Vivienne's shoulder and whispered into her ear. "Vivi, halfway through the chess match, I saw Mr. Finch's phone ring. I didn't follow him when he stepped out, but I did what you said. I logged the exact time it rang and the time he came back."

Vivienne glanced over at the Montclair butler. Originally, she was just taking a blind shot in the dark. Did she actually just hit the jackpot?

If Mr. Finch's phone call perfectly aligned with her outbound call, that essentially locked down one of the Diamond Members as a Montclair asset.

Things were going so smoothly it felt surreal.

"What are you two whispering about over there?"

Startled, Vivienne and Bianca looked up, realizing everyone else was standing with their glasses raised. The two girls quickly scrambled to their feet, grabbing their glasses of milk.

Caspian didn't scold them. He smiled at the elders. "Cheers, everyone."

They all raised their glasses and drank.
