Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 287

Caelan Cavanaugh nodded and turned to enter the Obsidian Estate.

Julian Ravenshire helped Matriarch Cavanaugh into the car. After she was settled, he went to the other door, but found it locked.

The window rolled down. Matriarch Cavanaugh looked at him fondly. "Julian, no need to see me off. I'll head back on my own."

Julian froze.

She pointed to his flower basket. "Give that to me."

He handed it through the window. She held it with both hands, examining every flower. Her wrinkled eyes were filled with heavy love.

She dabbed her eyes, her gaze gentle.

"Julian, you can exercise absolute authority over me now."

Julian was stunned, guilt filling his rebellious eyes. "Grandma, I'm sorry."

She shook her head, indulging him. "Didn't that girl say it? Even if it's a game, you need sportsmanship. I might be old, but my sportsmanship is just as good as you young people's."

Julian's fingers trembled. He looked at her in silence.

She sighed softly and smiled. "Do you really not want to leave with me?"

The young man's eyes flickered, his fingers slowly curling. His voice was soft. "Yes."

She let go of her disappointment and nodded with a smile. "I understand. Visit me when you have time."

Julian gritted his teeth, his voice choked up. "I will."

Her eyes reddened. She smiled and shook her head. "Caspian, oh Caspian. Still as calculating as ever. Taking my grandson away with a simple game." She pressed a button, and the window rolled up.

"Let's go."

The car started slowly.

The young man in the rearview mirror grew further away.

Matriarch Cavanaugh couldn't hold it in anymore, hugging the flower basket and crying silently.
