Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 3

After leaving the hospital, Vivienne went straight back to the Obsidian Estate.

The estate had been a wedding gift from Caspian Ravenshire when she married Alaric. The old man had once half-jokingly told her that if Alaric ever treated her poorly or wronged her, she should move back to the Obsidian Estate and ignore him until he went crazy with worry.-

The elder Mr. Ravenshire had clearly overestimated her importance. She had been living here for three years, and Alaric wasn't worried in the slightest.

The household staff had mostly left, and now only Marissa, the driver, and a few gardeners remained.

"Ma'am, you're back?" Marissa, who had been making soup in the kitchen, heard her arrive and immediately came out to greet her.

"Yes." Vivienne seemed drained.

Marissa took the purse from her hand, her face filled with concern. "How did it go? What did the doctor say?"

Vivienne's voice was flat. "That quack said there's nothing wrong with me."

Marissa only knew that Vivienne had gone to the hospital, not that she was seeing a psychiatrist. Hearing that everything was fine, she let out a long sigh of relief. "That's good. I heard Miss Bianca is also at that Hospital. Did you see her? Did you run into Mr. Alaric?"

Vivienne couldn't be bothered to explain. She was already numb to it all. No matter what she did, no one ever believed her. They all thought she was just playing games to get Alaric's attention.

Seeing her silence, Marissa quickly shut her mouth. She gave an awkward smile, knelt down to help Vivienne with her shoes, and froze for a moment when she saw the champagne-colored, diamond-encrusted high heels.

Vivienne looked down at the woman at her feet, her expression listless. "Marissa, you should leave too."

Marissa was stunned. She looked up at Vivienne, bewildered. "Ma'am, did I do something wrong? I…"

Three years ago, it was filled with rare roses from all over the world. But after the elder Mr. Ravenshire passed away, they were replaced with peonies.

It was April, and a light rain was falling. The peonies were in full bloom, a riot of purples and reds that stretched as far as the eye could see.

Vivienne walked into the greenhouse, slipped off her high heels, and lay down on the rattan lounge chair.

This had become her favorite thing to do—rocking gently in the chair while watching the peonies sway in the spring breeze, forming an ocean of color. In these moments, she felt particularly relaxed, possessed by a tranquil feeling that she could just die right then and there.

A series of pings from her phone on the coffee table shattered the quiet atmosphere.

She frowned slightly. She hadn't used her phone in a long time and had only turned it on to charge before leaving today. She'd forgotten to turn it off when she got back.
