Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 378

Top-floor Presidential Suite.

"Absolutely not!"

Victoria cut off the man in front of her without hesitation. "We had an agreement. You can play with that bastard however you like, but the girl is off-limits."

The man across from her looked to be around forty, with pale skin, brown hair, and features far sharper than a typical Athelvian's. He wore a sharp black suit. A delicate solid gold pocket watch dangled from his breast pocket, etched with a crest of a six-winged crown.

Unlike Victoria's flustered outrage, he appeared utterly unbothered. "Now, Mrs. Ravenshire, let's not get emotional. That little girl humiliated you in public. Me stepping in to discipline her works out perfectly for you, doesn't it?"

Victoria stared at him coldly. "She isn't the same as that bastard. You saw it yourself—the old man treats her like a priceless treasure. If anything happens to her at my gala, he'll rip me apart."

The man chuckled. "There are no impossible deals in this world, only unequal stakes. It's been a very long time since I've seen a toy that caught my eye quite like her. One is feral and vicious, the other compliant and gentle. I can already picture the absolute joy of breaking them both."

A shudder of disgust ran through Victoria.

The rumors about the Beaufort family's depravity were entirely true. She had assumed his tastes leaned strictly toward men, but apparently, he went both ways.

Balthazar waved a hand. His secretary instantly pulled a document from his coat and placed it on the coffee table between them.

"Three years ago, Dorian bent over backward to get on my boat. To show my sincerity, I sneaked into Athelvia behind my family's back. Are you telling me you can't satisfy one small request?"

Victoria looked at the document, hesitation flickering in her eyes.

After Ethan Montclair was imprisoned, Victoria had visited him. Under her relentless pressure, Ethan finally confessed the secret of File 49.

That was when she understood why the Montclair family had been yanked down from the presidency when they had been just one step away.

It wasn't just the Ravenshire family pulling the strings. It was the Whitmores. And behind them, the Beaufort family.

They had all boarded the exact same ship because of File 49.

Fifty years ago, the Beaufort regime in Solenforth launched The Global Pyramid Initiative. They signed a strategic integration pact with forty-nine nations, designed solely to protect the ultimate interests of the global elite.

Simply put, a cabal of the elite turned the world into their personal theater. They established a borderless alliance. Since then, whether it was a war in the Middle East or a naval standoff in the North Sea, it was all scripted by the top of the pyramid.

It was a terrifying master plan. Many of these nations were deeply entrenched in arms dealing and the gray economy. Through the alliance, whenever they needed to inflate their wealth, they could easily engineer a conflict between two countries to boost weapon sales. Or, they could manufacture international crises to solidify their own citizens' blind faith.

But Balthazar was a cunning old fox. He didn't mind tossing Dorian a bone, but the timing had to be perfect. He couldn't just hand it over because Dorian asked; that would destroy the power dynamic.

Victoria perfectly manipulated Balthazar's psychology. Knowing he had a taste for young men, she offered up Cyril as a plaything. It was a massive show of the Ravenshire family's sincerity.

Just as expected, after seeing a picture of Cyril, Balthazar agreed instantly, even volunteering to come to Athelvia in person.

Everything had gone exactly according to Victoria's script. But right as she was about to make the drop, Balthazar suddenly demanded an extra prize.

This complicated things.

Seeing Victoria staring at the file without answering, Balthazar adopted a casual tone. "This list contains every single connection I've built in Athelvia over the past dozen years. Are you telling me that doesn't outweigh one little girl?"

Victoria still didn't move.

"I heard your son hasn't been allowed home in six years," Balthazar added smoothly. "You must miss him terribly. What if I throw in another grand prize just for you?"
