Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 387

Benedict immediately understood the brutal logic behind the play. "I'm on it. I'll give the order now."

"Uncle Benedict," Alaric stood up, his expression dead calm. "I'm going in with you."

Benedict froze, instinctively shutting it down. "Absolutely not! There isn't a single sane person in the Beaufort family, especially Balthazar. The only way I can guarantee your safety is if you stay right here."

Alaric shook his head. "No. I have to go. Grandpa said it himself—no one takes a Ravenshire from right under our noses. Balthazar's men are vicious. You can't afford to be distracted while leading the extraction. I'll go in and command the perimeter so you can focus on getting them out."

Benedict hesitated. The logic was sound, but if anything happened to Alaric—the future head of the family—he would never forgive himself.

Julian glanced at Alaric, then stepped forward. "If it's too much of a risk for him, let me go instead."

Benedict looked at him like he was crazy. "What exactly is the difference? Neither of you are setting foot on that ship!"

"..." Julian's expression darkened. He knew exactly what the difference was. Alaric was the golden heir, the one carrying Grandpa's legacy. He wasn't.

But Benedict's blunt, thoughtless 'What exactly is the difference?' felt like a physical blow, instantly reminding him of the gold card from three years ago. For a second, the words died in his throat.

Alaric spoke up, his voice leaving no room for argument. "Uncle Benedict, when Grandpa sent me to Merriton, he gave me full operational authority. The Ravenshire family's war is my war. And since this is my war, I make the call."

Benedict stared at him, a dark, complicated emotion flashing in his eyes. Years ago, someone else had slapped him on the shoulder, pointed out at the raging ocean, and smiled, saying, 'I'm leaving now. I'm going to fight my own war.'

Benedict let out a heavy sigh and turned his back. "Keep yourself alive."

"Who the hell are you? This is international property, our ship is legally—"

The lead enforcer tried to recycle the exact same diplomatic bullshit they had just used, but Julian vaulted out of the chopper and brutally roundhouse-kicked him to the deck.

"The Ravenshire family is here to collect. If you want to live, get the hell out of the way."

The moment the words left his mouth, an army of men in black tactical gear swarmed over the railings from every side of the ship. Benedict gave a sharp hand signal, and The Shadow Chamber flooded into the cruise liner like a hive of lethal black ants.
