Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 435

"Dad?"

Evelyn stared blankly at her hand, which had just been brushed away. A terrifying realization dawned on her, and panic flooded her eyes. She immediately collapsed to the floor, grabbing the hem of Caspian's trousers. "Dad, I know I was wrong. I didn't raise Lara right. She's a good kid, it's my fault..."

Caspian nodded. He patted Evelyn's head, his face totally devoid of emotion. "It's good that you understand. Send Lara away, and I won't pursue this matter any further."

Send her away?!

Evelyn froze in disbelief for several seconds. When reality finally set in, she clung to Caspian's leg, sobbing hysterically. "No, Dad! Lara is my only daughter! She's my whole life!"

Terrified, Charles dropped down beside her. "Caspian..."

Caspian raised a hand, cutting him off. "Save your breath. You don't have to send her away, but if she stays, the Arlington family will have nothing to do with the Ravenshires ever again."

Charles swallowed his pleas immediately.

Leander hadn't expected the consequences to be this severe. He looked at Dorian, hesitating to speak.

Years ago, Jaxen had refused to correct his behavior and was ultimately banished from Athelvia by Caspian. He hadn't expected history to repeat itself with another family member.

Evelyn refused to give up. "Dad, I know I was wrong! Please, you know my health is... I won't complain anymore, and I won't fight for anything else! Please don't take Lara away from me! She's my only daughter... Dad! Taking my child away from me is ripping my heart out!"

Caspian closed his eyes, his voice low. "When you hurt Aurelia, were you not ripping out Benedict's heart?"

"..."

Evelyn had no retort. Through her blurry tears, she looked across at the third branch. After a heavy silence, she bowed her head in defeat before Benedict.

Benedict was stunned.

It wasn't just him; even Vivienne's expression changed slightly.

Evelyn was the eldest daughter of the Ravenshire family. She had grown up with the 'eldest princess' halo and possessed a naturally arrogant disposition. She never respected anyone. Yet today, she had broken down and surrendered to Benedict for Lara's sake.

Leander's face tightened. He stepped forward and pulled her up. "What are you doing?"

Once Caspian made a decision, he never changed it. That was family law. Even if Benedict forgave her, it wouldn't alter the outcome.
