Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 464

Because she had foreseen Aurelia's fate in the previous timeline, she subconsciously blamed Preston for Aurelia's demise. But if Preston had been swapped out for any random jerk, would Aurelia have escaped?

No!

She wouldn't have.

Preston was simply viler, his methods far more sinister. But even with someone else, Aurelia never would have emerged unscathed. The root cause was that oppressive label: Lovestruck Brain.

So the one dragging Aurelia toward death wasn't a man. It was herself.

Vivienne's expression turned intensely serious. "Do you trust me?"

Aurelia, still pondering how to break her invisible bond with Preston, was jolted back. She answered without a second thought. "Of course."

"I can help you break every single chain holding you back," Vivienne said. "But the condition is that you must trust me unconditionally."

A fierce resolve ignited in Aurelia's eyes. Her voice was firm. "I trust you."

Vivienne shook her head. "The trust I'm talking about means that even if all the witnesses and evidence point against me, even if I confess to betraying you myself, you will still believe in me without a shred of doubt. Are you absolutely certain you can do that?"

Aurelia hesitated for a fraction of a second.

Vivienne closed her eyes, tilting her head back toward the open sky. "If we lose, you'll be condemned to hell. Shall we take the gamble?"

She started with "you" and ended with "we." It was a two-person game, but the stakes were entirely tied to one person's future.

Aurelia looked at the girl bathed in sunlight, a confident smile lifting the corners of her mouth. "I'll bet on it. How else are we supposed to win our future?"

Vivienne slowly opened her eyes, raising a hand to block the glaring sun. "Are you sure?"

Aurelia nodded.

Vivienne turned her head, her gaze perfectly calm. "Preston is your destiny. Face him head-on."

There were ten minutes of recess left. The students from the Talent & Virtue Building scrambled back to their classrooms to cram, while those from the Elite Talent Building strolled leisurely across the field in groups of two or three.
