Kael was no pushover. The moment he snapped out of his daze, he went completely ballistic, baring his teeth as he lunged at Julian.

Julian countered with a swift elbow strike, following up with a hard punch straight to Kael's cheekbone. "I hit you. So what? Do I need to check the calendar first?"

Alaric and Cyril stopped dead in their tracks, turning their heads toward the sound.
