An underground casino beneath a residential building.
“She replied. She says we're meeting at the coffee shop in Northmere Park.”
Suri clutched her phone, looking at the bald man in front of her with a fawning expression. “Right, Rizzo?”
The bald man crushed his cigarette butt, stood up, and pulled a thick stack of cash from a black duffel bag. “You know what to say?”
Suri's eyes gleamed greedily as she shot the man a flirtatious wink. “I know, I know. You don't need to worry about a thing.”
The man pulled out another cigarette, clamped it between his lips, and cast her a cold, sinister look. “And you need to hurry up with that other matter. The people upstairs are waiting.”
Suri's eyes darted around. Swaying her hips, she sidled up to the man and wrapped herself around his arm. “Rizzo, that little brat is sharp. She's not going to be easy to fool.”
Rizzo narrowed his eyes slightly. Suri instantly shifted her expression, patting the man's chest reassuringly.
“But don't you worry, I've already figured out a plan. It's just... it's just...” Feigning a look of difficulty, she rubbed her thumb and index finger together. “It's just that I'm a little short on funds.”
The man shot her a sideways glare, reached into the black bag, and pulled out an even thicker stack of bills. “Is this enough?”
“Yes! More than enough!” Suri's eyes were practically glued to the massive wad of cash, filled with naked greed.
The man's face darkened. He shot his hand out, clamping it around her throat and lifting her up like a chicken. “Get it done, and this is just the spare change. But if you screw this up, this money will be paying for your coffin.”
Suri's face paled slightly as she carefully hugged the money to her chest. “Rizzo, don't worry.”
