Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 543

Sophia's room was located in the estate's annex. After leading the two girls out of the main building, Clarissa patted her chest and let out a long, heavy exhale. "You two are incredibly bold. You nearly scared me half to death."

Mina looked a bit guilty. "Please excuse our behavior, Mrs. Everhart. We just got desperate and spoke out of turn. Please don't tell my mother, or she'll lecture me about my manners again."

Clarissa covered her mouth, her laugh light and musical. "Don't worry, my lips are sealed."

Vivienne raised her eyes to study Clarissa. Though she was in her forties, she looked remarkably youthful. She had a gentle, spring-breeze demeanor that only grew more elegant the longer you looked at her.

Preston possessed a similar gentleness, but his was entirely superficial, lacking even a fraction of Clarissa's genuine warmth.

It seemed the apple had fallen remarkably far from the tree.

Catching Vivienne's gaze, Clarissa offered her a warm smile. "You said your name was Vivienne. How old are you this year, sweetheart?"

So friendly?

Vivienne couldn't help but feel a little surprised. Aside from Talia, the other high-society ladies she encountered usually harbored some quiet disdain for her after witnessing her sharp tongue, only suppressing it out of deference to the Ravenshire name. But Clarissa was different. She actually seemed interested.

Vivienne thought for a moment before answering honestly. "I'm sixteen."

Clarissa looked thoughtful. "Vivienne... derived from the Latin for 'life'. It implies a vibrant soul, carrying the elegance of a lady and the fierce, spirited energy of a heroine. You certainly live up to your name."

Vivienne blinked, mildly stunned. "You know about the history of the name?"

Clarissa arched an elegant brow, feigning a bit of pride. "It seems you haven't done your homework on our family. The Everharts are deeply passionate about classical theater and lore. We host private dramatic readings every other week, so of course, I'm well-versed in the classics."

Vivienne smiled. "That's very impressive, Mrs. Everhart."

Clarissa's eyes crinkled with warmth. "Oh, stop with the 'Mrs. Everhart' business, you're making me sound ancient. Just call me Clarissa."

Vivienne nodded. "Clarissa."
