Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 631

"Zeke?" Vivienne Lexton sat on the bedroom sofa, her gaze drifting over the harbor's nightscape. "So Rowena confessed to everything?"

Aurelia Ravenshire stepped out of the bathroom, freshly showered. Seeing Vivienne on the phone, she mouthed, "Mina?"

Vivienne nodded and put the call on speaker.

Mina Blackthorne's voice came through the line. "Yeah. I tricked her into thinking I'd beg Grandfather for mercy, and she bought it. She said that not long after she fled the hospital, a group of people tracked her down and forced her to raise a baby girl. That baby was Isolde. She didn't want to do it, but they were vicious. They threatened and bribed her until she had no choice but to accept. Zeke was the leader of that group."

"The day of the incident, there was a crew waiting outside to back them up, and Zeke was among them. But he's already fallen into Grandfather's hands. Grandfather said Zeke has been secretly working for Damien Whitmore all along. He's the one managing that underground casino in the slums."

Damien Whitmore?

Vivienne was mildly surprised. She had always assumed Gideon and Frederick Whitmore were the ones pulling the strings behind the family's major decisions.

"Then... how did Rowena explain what happened that day?"

Mina paused. "Rowena didn't know all the specific details. She only said that Zeke had been pushing her to introduce Isolde to the Church, but Isolde always found an excuse to dodge it. Zeke eventually lost his patience and said he couldn't wait anymore, so... so he found a group of guys to..."

She trailed off, unable to finish the sentence.

Vivienne immediately changed the subject. "It's in the past now."

"Yeah," Mina murmured. "It's in the past."

Vivienne's mind raced, and she suddenly caught onto something completely wrong. "Why was the Whitmore family trying so hard to force Isolde into the Church? What exactly is going on inside that place?"

"I asked Rowena, but she didn't know," Mina replied. "She did mention that most of the girls in the slums ended up joining the Church. They attended service four times a month, and their families were compensated with cash."

Vivienne lowered her eyes, her expression turning grave.

For some inexplicable reason, a flash of the storyline that the Narrative Realm had forcefully corrected suddenly crossed her mind.

Were all those girls trapped inside the Church?

"What's wrong?" Mina asked. "Why did you go quiet?"

—[Mira Easton: I'm in so much pain right now. Since you're the official Blackthorne heiress, you can definitely help me. I'll be waiting for you on the roof, my best friend.]

She had deleted the message, grabbed her backpack, and walked out of the classroom.

—[Mira Easton: You didn't dare come? Are you scared? The person who personally pushed me into hell is actually scared?]

—[Mira Easton: Don't think you can run away. I'll be waiting for you in hell.]

Message after message flooded her phone. Just as she deleted the final text, a dark silhouette plummeted from the sky, hitting the ground with a sickening thud, completely blocking her path.

The world spiraled out of control. It felt as though no matter which way she walked, her path would always be stained with blood.

Vivienne and Aurelia sat in front of the television in the living room as the local Merriton City news broadcasted the horrific school incident live.
