Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 630

Preston stood by the railing, hands in his pockets, looking down.

Just then, the phone in his pocket vibrated. He pulled it out, glanced at the screen, and let out a cold laugh.

-[I reject your invitation.]

With just one look, Preston casually shoved the phone back into his pocket.

"Let me out! Let me out! How long are you going to keep me locked up? I already told you I don't know anything! I just wanted my daughter back! What right do you have to keep me locked up? What right?!"

In the pitch-black room, Rowena screamed hysterically. Since she was locked in here, she had been repeating the exact same words.

Mina stood outside the iron door, signaling for Rupert to open it.

The creaking of the door caught Rowena's attention. She frantically banged against the glass.

"Let me out! Let me out!"

When she saw the figure beyond the glass, a look of ecstatic joy flashed through her crazed eyes. "Mina! Mina! I knew you wouldn't abandon me! We are real mother and daughter!"

Mina looked around the room. There was no natural light, and the space was divided by a floor-to-ceiling glass wall. On her side was an interrogation chair, while two massive incandescent lights hung on the wall on Rowena's side.

"Mina, tell the Blackthornes to let me go! I'm innocent. I don't know anything."

*Truly insatiable.*

Mina's expression was indifferent. "I feel the need to remind you that this isn't the world you're used to. The bargaining chips you think you have mean absolutely nothing to the Blackthornes. Do you really think they can't track down the people behind you? The only reason you're still standing here in one piece is because Grandpa still cares about my feelings. If it weren't for that, based on what you did to Isolde alone, the Blackthornes could kill you ten thousand times over."

Rowena's face instantly turned deathly pale. She was all bark and no bite, only acting tough to save her own life.

Now that Mina had completely dismantled her front, Rowena dropped the act altogether. She threw herself onto the ground, sobbing and wailing, "I did it all for you! As long as Isolde could never return to the Blackthornes, no one could compete with you! Save me, Mina! I don't want to die. Beg Mr. Blackthorne for me! I didn't have a choice! They forced me to do it!"

Mina stood up and spoke gently through the glass. "I will help you. Because only if I lessen your sins will Grandpa not misdirect his anger toward me. This is the last time I will ever come to see you. After today, our bond as mother and daughter is severed. Whether or not you tell the truth is entirely up to you."
