Seeing the tension between his two sons, Frederick immediately intervened. "Enough! What are you two fighting about at a time like this? The key now is figuring out what they're plotting."
"You're right, Dad," Gideon said, his expression softening. "Damien, I spoke too hastily just now. Don't take it to heart."
Damien offered a faint smile and turned back to Frederick. "Dad, you mentioned they're plotting something. Did you notice a detail we missed?"
Frederick shook his head. "I honestly can't figure out the Ravenshires' strategy here. Even if they proved Mina's innocence, they've dragged themselves into a much deeper mess. Hoarding firearms, brutally executing criminals—either one is enough to provoke public outrage and bring disaster down on their heads."
Damien and Gideon hadn't figured that out either. But since their opponent dared to make such a move, they definitely had a backup plan.
The brilliance of this play was that the endgame was entirely unpredictable.
"Mr. Whitmore," Huxley handed over a phone.
Frederick glanced at it, his expression grave. "Look at this. The slightest sign of trouble, and these people panic."

The Blackthorne family.
The live broadcast had ended, but the Main Hall remained dead silent.
Theron Blackthorne looked back at Isolde, his eyes filled with conflicting emotions.
Eleonora Blackthorne was pale, sitting quietly on the couch without saying a word.
Isolde kept her head down, lost in her own thoughts.
Edmund knelt down, picking up the scattered pieces of jade from the floor one by one.
He suddenly remembered that it was in this very Main Hall where Vivienne had spoken with absolute certainty over the phone: "I am not one of Mina's sketchy friends."
"Mr. Blackthorne!" Rupert couldn't hide his excitement. He ran so fast he nearly tripped over his own feet. "It's Caspian Ravenshire on the line."
Edmund closed his eyes and slowly stood up, steadying himself on the coffee table.
A guy answered without much thought, "Do you even have to ask? Public possession of a firearm, psychotic torture and murder—even if the Ravenshires own the sky, they can't openly cover this up."

Obsidian Estate.
Talia Ravenshire sat with her legs crossed, admiring her fresh manicure. "Tell them I'm willing to offer two hundred million dollars. As long as they declare Vivienne innocent, I can add more. Didn't they say a fine can offset the sentence? Give me a number. Bottom line! When she goes to court, I don't want to hear a single word against my daughter."
"What do you mean 'cover-up'? You want to talk about public integrity with me now? Believe me, I will expose every bribe you've ever taken."
"..."
Lucian Ravenshire had just stepped into Vellmont Lodge when he heard Talia making her wild demands.
