The struggle behind the scenes wasn't caught on camera, but it couldn't escape Talia's sharp eyes.
Aurelia's gaze shifted slightly. "Aunt Talia, please don't tell my dad."
"You!" Talia poked her forehead. "Do you really think your father doesn't know? If he didn't, there wouldn't have been just three people storming into Vellmont Lodge demanding answers. They call me a spoiling mother, but your dad isn't any better."
Aurelia burst into giggles.
Talia was still a bit worried. "Aurelia, can you just give me a hint? Why make such a huge scene? What is Vivienne really after? Is it just because of that Blackthorne girl?"
Recalling Vivienne's instructions, Aurelia's serene face took on a grave, chilling edge.
"Aunt Talia, I can't tell you the reason right now. I can only say this: we are saving someone. And it's not just Mina—we're going to save a lot more people."

The time difference between Solenforth and Athelvia was only two hours.
Starting at three in the afternoon, right after Mina's press conference ended, Caspian spent five solid hours locked in his room, making phone calls.
Aside from the call with Edmund, which took a little longer, all the other conversations were kept under a minute.
Julian lounged on a soft chair in the courtyard, his phone continuously looping the footage of Vivienne mercilessly shooting the criminals. Every time the video paused on her tilted smile, his heart raced uncontrollably. Even after watching it for five hours, he never escaped that rush.
Now, it wasn't just his grandfather—he wanted to go home too.
Just as the thought crossed his mind, an incoming call popped up on his screen.
Alaric.
Julian glanced at it and lazily sat up. How rare. Why was that dumbass calling him?
"Hello?"
"Where's Grandpa?" Alaric asked.
Julian glanced toward the house, drawing out his words. "The old man is busy right now. No time for you."
"..."
"Alaric, can you handle this or not?" Julian mocked. "If not, let that other dumbass take care of it. He might be sneaky, but he doesn't make as much of a fuss as you do. Stop running to Grandpa every time something goes wrong. Do you need him to hold your hand? Do you really fucking need to ask about this? If anything happens to Vivi..."
Beep.
He raised his hand to knock, but suddenly thought better of it and lowered his arm.
Cyril lifted his gaze, his eyes in the dark resembling a sea dotted with starlight.
After a brief moment of contemplation, he turned and went into his own bedroom.
On the other side of the door, Vivienne was leaning against the wood. She only exhaled slowly when she heard the lock click in the next room.
She didn't know what the hell Alaric and Cyril were up to these past two days, always leaving early and coming back late together. But thankfully, because they were too busy to bother with her, she had managed to pull off this grand spectacle.
Alaric was hard to read, but Cyril knew a lot about her. He had definitely guessed that the leaked video had her fingerprints all over it.
Since he wasn't asking any questions now, there was a high probability he was playing dumb.
Vivienne turned around, hopped into bed, and peacefully closed her eyes.
She would get a good night's sleep and wake up ready for battle tomorrow.
